Jakes746ParticipantOver the past few days I really have been thinking about the draft… Well being a portland fan I know that drafting centers is risky.. Ugh. So why is Embiid such a lock for first? Great potential and all that but Jabari Parker is seemingly a can’t miss prospect, and Cavs need a 3. With Hawes, Varejao, and Zeller they have centers, and we all know that Deng is out. Why is Embiid first in everyone’s mock? I’m honestly asking because I wanna know if I’m missing something.

r377ParticipantHe has never been first on my mock. The reason why he is first is because Aran has him as no1 and all the sheep on here just follow.
I personally would be cautious about drafting someone coming off an injury. Sullinger, Perry Jones, Noel all dropped due to injury concerns.
As soon as Aran drops him down, all the sheep will follow just watch and wait….

nick5354ParticipantHawes is a free agent at the end of the year. So in reality, we might only have Andy V and Zeller at Centre next season. Andy V is hardly a full time center anyway, and he has serious injury issues, also Zeller is probably only ever going to be a good first big coming off a bench. So Cavs need is as bad at centre as it is at SF.
Also, we are hardly sheep, I have Embid as #1 in my mock. I think heaps of us are really buying into his size, footwork and high level of skill. Although, he is probably the highest risk out of the top 3, I just think you cannot pass on getting one of the better centres in the last 10 years.
It is tough though, because I feel like this is a draft where like the 2003 draft, one of the top 5 teams will regret making the wrong decision and passing on a player.

For_Never_EverParticipantAny one of the top 3 guys can go first. Because this draft has 3 guys with first overrall potential and talent. Simple.

Burymeinakobebryantnumber8ParticipantWiggins or exum will end up being the best two out of them all! But Parker and randle will do a lot beginning

For_Never_EverParticipantParker to me is the safest pick with his offensive capability, and since he gotten into shape added athleticism. He will be solid at least on defense. He is going to be a SF. Not a skilled undersized PF he is categorized as.
Embid has the most potential, but he scares me because of his back injuries that he is rumored that he has had issues with since HS. It seems like 7fters have at best a 50/50 chance of having raletive healthy career.
Andrew my opinion has the second most potential and at very least will be a great defender that can knock down the open shot and finish at the rim. However, I do wonder how much he can improve on his overall skills. But he has athleticism, body, size and length you can’t teach.

Toronto16ParticipantI think the Cavs will ultimately go Wiggins if they keep the pick, unless they are sure Lebron is coming back. It would be great to pair him with a big man.

tidhoParticipantEmbiid is far from a lock. Especially given the rumored concerns with his back uncovered at the Cleveland Clinic.
Wiggins is the next most likely. Parker is a fantastic prospect, but is the worst fit of the top 3 (potential role redundency with Bennett) and the GM specifically said that fit would be a huge consideration with the pick.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWho knows what the Cavs plan to do? Cant go wrong with any of the top 3…
But watching this year’s playoffs this year’s playoffs and seeing how Ibarka protected the rim and how time after time the Spurs kept dumping the ball inside to Duncan to get easy baskets…You really have to look hard and consider Embiid, becuz having a big man that can offer you does things are hard to come by….

r377ParticipantTold you he was an injury risk. Taking him so high was a huge risk…..
Now who is brave enough to admit they still would of taken him with the first pick ?

r377ParticipantIt’s more about how a lot of kids on here have no idea about draft prospects. You only have to look back at all the posts on how he was “the next Olajuwon” or a lock to go no1 even after his injury concerns. Taking him over Parker or Wiggins would of got many a GM sacked.
I wonder if Aran had not dropped him just leading up to the draft, how many sheep would still of put him as no1 ahead of Parker and Wiggins. I like to add Wiggins was generally regarded by alot of scouts as the best HS player since Lebron.
Rule number 1 of successfully posting for points on NBAdraft.net – Always follow the herd and always copy Aran’s mock. If you disagree from this you will get negged. It doesn’t matter if you thought Perry Jones, Harrison Barnes or Austin Rivers would not be all-stars like the alot of users predicted, just keep quiet and go along with the crowd…..
Rule number 2 of posting for points – even if you are right, keep quiet about it or you will be negged again…
