    I normally try not to "rant and rave" in my posts…but is Dicke V the worst commentator ever???

    I’m watching the UNC/MSU game….and I literally am having a hard time concentrating on the game becasuse dick won’t shut the @#$% up!!!

    There was a period in my life when I found Dicke V tolerable….unfortuneatly it lasted all of 3 days!!!

    He is LOUD...He is ANNOYING….He cuts Jay Bilas and the other commentator off in mid sentence alomst every chance he gets….He talks about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING except the ACTUAL game taking place….He is a HORRIBLE "name" dropper…talking about players and people from 40 years ago CONSTANTLY….He goes off on a completely irrelevant story for a good 2 minutes routinely….bottom line….I have 2 watch the game on mute!!!

    P.S…..JOHN HENSON looks SOLID!!!!…Freshmen BRENDON DAWSON for MSU looks good also.

    I Love Vitale..He can make a Division 3 game sound interesting..He’s a major part of college basketball …Kids are more excited to see him come to their campus as they are to see the superstar players….

     

    But i live in Florida and i know alot of folks that have meet him and they say he has a pretty foul mouth..So i’m surprise he havent use those words on tv as much as he does in private…

    Jay gave it to him tonight. Dick is only good for Rivalry Games. He did no homework on the in coming Freshmen class. Jay Schooled Him tonight. Dick does suck for not doing his Homework, weak Commentator. Know your shit Dick.

    Jay does his homework on every guy!

    Dick compare Barnes to Henson start as a Freshman, Jay was like " I don’t think it was like that".

    Gus Johnson can make the finals seconds of a game sound so dramatic!!! CBS were DUMB for Letting him GO!! bUT i think he’s still doing the Tournament for another Network…

    I love Dickey V as an announcer, but I hate him on Draft Day. The only thing I don’t like about him is that he will be stuck on a guy Draft Day, trying to persuade our thoughts to why he should be a Top 10 pick, when the guy is in the 20 range knowing he won’t translate well. "This guy will be a big time performer" etc.

    He likes the "successful" collegiate guys which is not a problem at all, but we all know quite a few of the guys he tries to make a sales pitch for won’t amount to anything.

    Dickie V is basically the official mouthpiece of NCAA basketball so he never says
    anything controversial and he always hypes up UNC and Duke. Both those things can get
    pretty annoying but he has really helped college basketball a lot. He’s a great cheerleader for
    the game and he sometimes even makes good comments.

    Jay Bilas knows basketball so he is a different type of commentator. Bill Walton is irreverent and
    knowlegeable. Those two guys are legit while Vitale is more of a pro rasslin commentator where he
    is a Duke/UNC homer and hates, and knows nothing about, the other team.

    My favorite commentator is Hubie Brown. He knows his basketball and is a true student, and teacher, of the game.
    Bobby Knight knows his stuff too plus he has the gravitas.

    A dream commentating crew would be Walton, Bilas, Hubie Brown, Bobby Knight, and Dickie V for comic relief.

     Dickey V’s worst prediction? He GUARANTEED that the 2007 Draft Class will top the 2003 Draft Class… He even sweared and promised… Hmmmm… 4 years later, I am still waiting for that prediction to come true…lol

    For me, he’s a character, not a commentator. He’s there for entertainment.  Personally I much prefer the commentating of Jay Bilas and Clark Kellogg.  Those two always call a great game, do their homework and provide interesting and valuable insight.
