Meditated StatesParticipantWhen big men are discussed in this draft his name does not come up often. Does he have the best Offensive game out of all the bigs in this draft?

JNixonParticipantHe doesn’t have the best offensive game out of every big man in this draft, but he’s up there. He’s starting to build his stock back up now and has a legit shot at the 1st round again, but he’s still underrated by alot of people. His production dropped because of shaky guard play and the fact that teams double and triple teamed him, and he’ll never face gimmicks like that in the NBA. I expect him to put up similar numbers to that of Charlie Villanueva, who he’s eerily similar to.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantHis name has been coming up much more recently despite the fact that there really is not a great body of work. A rumor came out the other day the Bulls are pretty high on him. He has supposedly had great workouts.
I’m not sold on him. He was bad against good opposition and, while he has a reputation for having an inside-out offensive game, shot all of 37 percent from the floor against the RPI 100 and 25 percent from behind the arc. Even the year before when he was regarded as a lottery pick, he had that one big game against Kansas and that was really it. He was the feature player on a bad team. How much of that is on him, and how much is on the dysfunction around him?

JNixonParticipantIt had alot to do with the dysfunction around him. Poor coaching, combined with the fact that teams were basing their entire defenses to stop him were the reasons for his inefficiency. And as I said in my previous post, that won’t be the case in the NBA at any point of his career. He is a talent on offense, but don’t expect too much defense and he’ll be only a mediocre rebounder. I think he’ll be very reasonably productive.

PaulsJayhawksParticipantI like him. Good call on the Charlie V comparison. He was stuck on a horrible team that counted on him to score and every defense knew he was all Iowa St had. Not easy to shoot the ball well when your the only option and your being chased by 2-3 defenders. He’ll be a steal early in Round 2.

wd40rocksParticipantIs 38 points against Houston not big? How about 27 against OSU? He had multiple big games his soph. year, and this year with all the attention he started to restort to fadeaways/akward floaters and when those didn’t fall, he would have a hard time getting in rythem. When he is able to get into post up situations on the next level where help probably won’t come, he will be fine. He can stretch the floor, kinda play defense, and will get you some rebounds, not bad for a borderline first round pick if you ask me.

frijole ghostParticipanthe is the definition of the “stretch four” that teams are coveting nowadays…not only can he shoot, but he’s a good athlete and very intelligent – i like him a lot
wouldn’t be surprised to see him go to okc at #21

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe Solid Guy that should go higher than he’s being mocked….Would not be surprised to see him grabbed in the 12 to 24 range…

knicks82ParticipantI know the Knicks are high on him and are trying to buy the Thunders 26 pick to take him. But I think he may be gone by then.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipanthe needs to step his the defense up though…that will get him on the court…He and Willie Warren should be there targets in the late 1st…

You can if you want, but just to be clear you are talking about the Houston team that qualified for the ever prestigious collegeinsider.com postseason tournament with the only guy in their rotation bigger than 6’6 was Marcus Cousin, right? Just ignore the entire bad body of work against actual good teams because things didn’t come easy. I must have missed where things come easy for players in the NBA. You also seem to be ignoring the fact that to stretch the floor, a guy has to hit better than what Brackins has from 3 in college.
