CavFanPRParticipantI’m tired of Irving’s passiveness and would like to see him traded. He doesn’t want to play in Cleveland apparently. This trade doesn’t work financially so other pieces would have to be added.
Thoughts?

terrancebowerParticipantThis would hurt us for sure…not only would we be losing our all-star, but it would also completely take Lowry out of the equation, who’s been having a way better season. Not that I’m saying Lowry is the better player, because Irving obviously has a lot more basketball left to play in his career than Lowry does, and has a higher ceiling, but I don’t think Irving is worth derailing the season for. (Maybe for Westbrook or Rondo). We’d be starting all over.
There’s no way they can start Irving and Lowry together and it would be a huge slap in the face to Lowry after all the hard work he does (averaging something like 18 and 8 in the last month and a half, also leads the league in charges taken, among the best rebounding PGs, and plays great D, distributes quite well). I’m a bit biased, but IMO Lowry is one of the most underrated players in the whole league and him being left off the all-star team in favor of Johnson was a crime.

CavFanPRParticipantLowry is underrated without a doubt. He has an expiring deal though so it’s uncertain if he’s returning next season. Kyrie still has two years left on his deal and is a RFA next season. I’m trying to come up with trade ideas for Kyrie that improve our team and is a fair deal.

terrancebowerParticipantYeah fair enough. I wasn’t really thinking of the contracts, so if Lowry leaves us that sucks. But, I feel that he’ll stay just because he’s a fan favourite, seems to have great chemistry with the team, they’re winning, and not many teams need point guards so his FA options would be limited (he’s not a role player, probably would not be willing to come off the bench at this point). Just my gut feeling, but I hope he doesn’t go anywhere.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Cavaliers need to be revamped and stop taking stupid chances. They took a chance on Mike Brown, failed. They took a chance on Thompson, there were better palyers. The same with Waiters and Bennett. They also took a chance on Bynum and that blew up in their face.
They need to start making sound decisions during the draft, free agency, as well as the coach roaming the sidelines.
I heard Lionel Hollins was a guy they were looking at. The combination of Hollins and Deng would be perfect moving forward because they would have two defensive leaders, along with Anderson Varejao. They need to get rid of Dion Waiters and get a true starting 2-guard that actually plays defense and can knock down 3s that isn’t ball-dominant alongside Irving.

eyefortalentParticipantturn out to be a better player than Irving. I’m not giving up him and a number one for Kyrie.

rileymcshea3ParticipantI don’t see the Raps doing it. They are basically losing a all star for a all star while sending a borderline all star to the bench.
If I’m the Cavs and really trying to clean up I’m getting rid of Waiters, and trying to get Aaron Afflalo who is the best player on the trade market and would compliment Kyrie.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIf the cavs can’t keep Irving in a cavs jersey they should just move the franchise or just get rid of it as a whole.
that’d mean 2-3 last 1 overall picks couldn’t win there so they left….and then there’s anthoney Bennett
miss have a sneaking suspicion kyrie ends up with a ring and its not in Cleveland. Some kyrie and k love action in LA maybe…

draftmangtParticipantThe Cavs won’t get back equal value in a trade for Irving so unless he demands a trade there is no reason the Cavs should trade him.
