Trade talks are ongoing for this pick, with several suitors emerging, but many around the NBA are operating under the assumption that Ball will be the selection here. Ball conducted an individual workout with the Timberwolves on Wednesday, his first private workout with an NBA team, before also working out in front of head coaches and executives for the Warriors, Hornets and Pistons on Thursday.

Ball is one of a group of three candidates, including Wiseman and Edwards, that the Timberwolves are expected to choose from on draft night. The Timberwolves met with and worked out Edwards but have not been able to get much traction with Wiseman.

There are scenarios in which the Wolves could trade down to No. 3 and still end up with Ball, picking up additional pieces such as Miles Bridges and a future pick from the Charlotte Hornets.
