Malik-UniversalParticipanti hate it when a great player has injuires catch up with him/her… or when a guy that has great potential never reaches it cuz he falls down the stairs… breaks his hip, breaks his arm, ruptures his achiless, never regains their health. it pisses me off
examples:
jonathan bender
grant hill
jermaine oneal (hasnt been the same since 07)
t-mac (hasnt been the same since 08)
kevin garnett (hasnt been the same since 08) but still pretty damn good
adam morrison (2nd year tore his acl or sumthin, never really recovered from that)
sean may ( showed promise in his 2nd yr, never been the same, had sum njuires)
iverson (a beer bottle got stuck in his head)

ghettosermonParticipantDaJuan Wagner. He was definitely an undersized 2 but damn could he score. I wish we could know how good he’d really be. That rookie season he came out guns blazing, and while he faded the 2nd half of the year and his shooting percentage dipped, he still had worlds of potential. It’s a shame when it’s not just injuries but illness.

SubZeroParticipantGreg Oden still has a chance to recover. Probably not to his full potential coming out of college though

Counting StarsParticipantAnybody old enough to remember Bobby Hurley? (Car accident)
Dermarr Johnson broke his neck, but I think he was heading for being a bust anyway
Jason Collier died from heart problemsBefore the league made it so that you could have an active/inactive list that differed each night, a lot of guys had injuries made up for them and put on the injured list where they spent the entire year and never got to play. I think that change was one of the best things to happen to the league in recent years.

ghettosermonParticipantI don’t think Collier should be in this discussion. If we including deaths the most tragic in NBA history has got to be Len Bias, still one of my favorite players ever. What a damn shame we never got to see him in the league. 2 days after going #2 overall, tragic. Oh and of course Reggie Lewis. It’s a shame their personal problems ended their lives far too early because their talent was insane.

Counting StarsParticipantPenny Hardaway – the guy was amazing. Had his own commercials and everything.

McDunkinHere is somebody that never gets mentioned that would have helped the spurs alot
Robertas Javtokas of Lithuania
He was drafted in 2001 by the spurs and had a 40 inch vert at 6’11. In 2002 he was in a pretty bad motorcycle accident and that hurt his potential alot
Before the accident dude was dunking on 12ft rims

sacphil_08ParticipantChris webber. He definitely reached his potential statistically but whos to say his potential couldve been to lead a team to a championship? I think if the kings had kept that core together and webber stayed healthy they wouldve won the championship at least once. In 03-04 the kings were the 4th seed in the west with an injured webber. There was depth with brad miller playing all star caliber and vlade still serviceable along with everyone else so i think c webb should be on this list.
