Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantHere’s a statement I found on NBA.com that’s pretty important/significant:
http://www.nba.com/2011/news/08/19/china-ban-contracted-nba-players.ap/index.html
It says that the Chinese League will NOT accept NBA players under contract (Chris Paul, Kobe, Melo,….) but will accept NBA FAs ONLY if they play the entire season, which means no opt-out clause.
I think this info is pretty important as the so-called ‘Chinese Eldorado’ will not exist, and therefore there will also be less roster spots for NBA players overseas as most European teams have, if not none, maximum one or two roster spots left.
For it to be on NBA.com, I also believe that the NBA asked for China to take these measures.
What do you guys think?

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThe NBA definitely had something to do with this. There’s no way the Chinese league would just completely screw themselves out of potentially getting Kobe.
