Tobe BryantParticipantWhats up yall?!? I cant seem to find Iman Shumpert on draft boards, but can somebody weigh-in on him? Who do you compare him to? What’s good about his game? Where do you see him going in the draft when he enters?

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHe’s draft stock is low because all of GT’s guards have looked terrible this season and most scouts blame them for the reason Derrick Favors’ stock is low

DanEboyParticipantHe has good size at 6’5. He was 2nd in th ACC in steals at 1.9 and led his team with 4 ast per game. I don’t really know too much about his game though.

JNixonParticipantHe’s long, a good slasher, and he’s a very good defender. When he’s on his game, he’s a guard that tough to handle from creating his own shots. He also can play at different speeds and has good body control and smooth athleticism. His pull-up jump shot is very dangerous most times. He plays PG for Georgia Tech, but he’s just one of those players who’s most effective with the ball in his hands to create for himself and others, so he’s likely going to be more of a SG at the next level..He’s the main reason GT’s frontcourt doesn’t get the post feeds it needs though, and he’s not that great a passer other than in transition and the drive and dish to the perimeter…
He’s going to be a 20’s pick probably..

canesboy6ParticipantHe is a really strong, and quick athlete. Competitive kid. One of my biggest sleepers in the country. He can do it all offensively, just struggles with consistency. Good defender too, on ball and getting steals. Better prospect than Crittenton IMO.

JNixonParticipantNah…He’s a SIMILAR prospect to Crittenton but not better. Crittenton was more explosive than Shumpert, and even though I don’t like Crittenton’s PG skills he is a better playmaker for others than Shumpert is.

scoutguruParticipantTo me he is probably a 4 year guy thats why he’s not on any draft boards as of now. He reminds me a lot of Javaris Crittenton. A big lead guard who is very turnover prone. His issue right now is that he just doesn’t display the requisite skills to be a point guard at the next level and he doesn’t show the ability to play off the ball as a pure scoring two guard. He can make some great passes at times, but he’s too inconsistent and at times is too late or too early in delivering his passes. Defensively he has all the tools to harass opposing point guards and be an all ACC defender, but too much of the time he’s not in a solid defensive stance and is too lackadaisical in his lateral footwork and lets inferior players just blow by him. Scoring wise he can get hot, but he can also be ice cold. He just needs time and experience, and he’s getting that as the lead guard for GT and should grow over the next two years, as he assumes a larger role. In all, if he makes the adjustments and improvements to his game I project, he should be a first rounder when he’s done at Tech.

RotelaParticipantIf he improves on his court awareness he will be a very tough player to guard, he has a lot of potential though…..
