Is anyone else finding this mock draft very difficult? I really need some feedback since I think mine is pretty bad right now. Its over on the side, please help!

I think it’s getting really difficult because Aran hasn’t updated his mock in almost 2 weeks. It’s been a week after the combine and a lot of players’ stocks have risen or fallen. I’m having a lot of trouble with guys like Keith Benson, Josh Selby, Charles Jenkins, Nikola Mirotic and all of those guys who could go anywhere from mid first round to mid second round

Ya I’m having problems with Selby and Mirotic but also Vesely because I want to put him higher than 10 but I have Washington taking Leonard and Sacremento taking Kemba so he kind of falls there.

So looking at your mock, here are the comments I would make:

-The T-Wolves said they wouldn’t trade their pick so if they take Williams they should trade Beasley. They should maybe aim at a solid interior presence like Kanter.

-The Jazz should  not be looking for Kanter as they already have Jefferson and Millsap, with Favors and Fesenko as  decent backups. They should aim at a SF like Vesely or Williams if available, or else they can still draft a combo guard like Knight, though I don’t find it logic.

-Charlotte should rather take a look at a Center even though taking Morris makes sense + you have them taking someone who can play SF in Honeycutt and a PF in Thompkins, who by the way is too low. Biyombo would be their perfect pick as he fits the mold of a defensive team. I really like the Pistons taking a defender  like Thompson to couple with Monroe.

-Vesely seems too low (i saw your comment: move him up to the Wizards who should take him instead of Leonard:  Bigger, better shooter and more upside) and I don’t see him going to the Bucks with already Salmons/Maggette/Ilyasova/Gooden/Mbah A Moute/ Sanders in place. The Bucks should aim at a SG (Burks)

-I’m surprised that the Rockets don’t draft any big man  in the first round and the undersized JaJuan Johnson at PF.  They should aim at Vucevic at 23, and they could take Jimmer at 14 to fill in their PG needs. They have enough wings right now imo. Even if they don’t take a big man in the first round, they can’t pass on Keith Benson in the second round.

-Tobias Harris is too low. The Nuggets should be looking at  him with Gallo, Chandler or Smith leaving this summer.

-San Antonio is in no need for a PG with Parker and Hill already in place. They should rather take a PF/C to team with Duncan: Jordan Williams (if available) or JaJuan Johnson

-Why do you have Milwaukee taking Norris Cole? They should rather take a PF to fill one of their minor gaps: I’d say Willie Reed if available or else Jon Leuer (too low at 48).

-Bertans, regarding his potential, should be a first-rounder. Chicago? The Bulls are drafting 2 bigs (Williams, Smith) and for me they only need one. In the secound round, as most of their needs are filled, they should pick a player for future, here Richmond.

-I totally agree with Charles Jenkins to the Hornets as he could end up being Marcus Thornton 2.0.

-Portland doesn’t need Lighty: they already have Batum, Fernandez, Matthews, etc… I’d  say they pick a solid PG like McCamey as a backup for Miller

-Denver don’t need a PG as they already have Felton and Lawson

-Skeen might be too low: I see him  going to Philly (no particular need for a SG if Iggy stays) or Memphis

But your mock is a pretty nice start

Yeah, mocks tend to get really hard after the lottery..

You’d start filling up spots and notice that you still have ___ ____ on the board. Then you gotta go back and put him higher, but then someone else has to drop, and then you gotta consider team needs, etc, etc….it gets hectic

I think your mock looks as good as most, probably better than most. Nobody knows what exactly what teams are thinking at this point, I would be shocked if anyone has any inside information on what teams are thinking.

I think potential players such as Tyler, Selby, or Mirotic could fall any where between 18 and 35, so just do your best. But what ever you do, it cant be worse than this….

I’ve nearly got mine together but I always have the problem do you put down who you think will go somewhere based on your own judgement or do you put down who the consensus thinks is likely to go there as this can alter the whole mock.

Looking at the combined mock on NBA.Com there is not that much consensus after the top two with several of the top ten all being listed differently according to which site you go to.
