The8thDeadlySinParticipantHey guys. Unfortunatly I am going to have to leave the site due to a job. I just recieved a phone call telling me that I have been hired to be an editor for ESPN!! That is good and bad news. Supposedly they will check the major sites for my profile. I could be fined and even lose my position for having a profile. I hope wasn’t a newsance and provided some quality conversations. Thanks all.

Just want to say congratulations and good luck at your job. And for the long run, it is nuisance not, newsance. You’re the editor! Congratulations and good luck again.

FutureoftheGameThat sucks. I just got here and the guy working for ESPN is rolling out.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:42pm #184853

Knicksboy34ParticipantTell them to watch out for this kid named Quentin Haynes…he gonna be looking for a job soon!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:49pm #184857

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI sure will man. By the way, I wont forget my roots. I will still check in all the time, I just wont have an active account. Keep your post very interesting and look for some of your arguements on SportsCenter. Who knows, that could be an idea or a topic inspired by you. Keep at it Quentin, you definatly know your stuff. More than I do. I just got a lucky brake. Some tips. Try to be in the right place at the right time and dont say anything online that could be used against you later. Trust me, if someone can find it, they will.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:52pm #184858

HaleParticipantJaredpaul what is your real name? I wanna know which stuff is yours when you writing for the big time man.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:56pm #184863

The8thDeadlySinParticipantUnfortunatly, Im sitting with my agent right now and he tells me not to tell. Sry guys. I may have mentioned it in an older post but its not Jared. This is my cousins account that i kind of stole.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:58pm #184867

Knicksboy34ParticipantThank you! Yea man, we wanna keep track of you, what is your name man!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:58pm #184868

dwat4444Participantwow man that sucks but hey u got to be rich if you’ve got an agent
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 5:59pm #184869

Knicksboy34ParticipantOk, cool man good luck! I will look out on ESPN!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:03pm #184873

HaleParticipantMaybe in an article you should like mention your roots so we can figure out it’s you! That would be cool, just something haha.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:24pm #184887
billykParticipantEditors have agents?????
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:29pm #184890

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHaha…thats exactly what I said when they told me I was a front runner for the job. But apparently there are all kinds of legal issues and contracts that have to be worked out. Its just like a player, I sign a contract for a X number of years and we discuss my pay. Its very confusing. But this is probably my last post so, Thanks again to everyone on the site, and remember, look on ESPN for the mention of the site and some topics.

spencerishawesome…I’m pretty sure an editor should know how to spell nuisance…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:39pm #184900
UofAxWildcatsParticipantpretty sure he said brake when the correct usage wouldve been break
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:39pm #184902
FutureoftheGameLOL, lets bash the guy who is working for ESPN. I dont know about yall, but i have had a few typos in my day.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:45pm #184911

R-Dot-13ParticipantGood luck man, we’ll miss you on this site
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 6:59pm #184925
spencerishawesomethose arent typos, they are just completely wrong spellings. i doubt the guy is working for ESPN as an editor when he has a couple of completely wrong spelled words on this page alone.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:14pm #184941

sheltwon3ParticipantOnly time will tell if there is a shout in the articles by some new guy then hey it was all real and if not it is what it is.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:21pm #184946
FutureoftheGameI never really posted with him but he seemed to be a cool guy. I wish him the best. If he gives a shout out then awesome, if not then that is still awesome. Unless he is a douche, i dont see why he would lie to yall. I dont know him tho, that is for you all to judge. GOOD LUCK MAN!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:44pm #184973
Bison 49ParticipantGreat news, you will be getting paid for doing sports analysis, nothing to complain about. Congrats!
Poeple, making typos on a NBA draft site is different than making typos on the job. It is not like someone will get fired for misspelling words or making typos on an internet site. Besides, I’ll bet than people have made the occasional post after the bar, and have had frequent typos as a result. This is not a usual situation one finds themselves in while working (hopefully).
Still it would be great to have an ESPN insider on Draftnet (jokes).
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:47pm #184977
xbadgerhustlerParticipantnot a high chance this is true… lol. can’t spell, and no, companies don’t do business on Sundays, especially not for editors that don’t know how to spell.
espn couldn’t care less if you post on the site as long as you don’t say you work for ESPN. lol
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:51pm #184980

Knicksboy34Participantwhy you guys gotta question the man?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:52pm #184981
xbadgerhustlerParticipanteditors know how to spell, it’s kinda what they do
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:55pm #184984
FutureoftheGameThats what Im sayin. Did the guy lie often? Was he a jerk? Did he ever give reason not to be trusted?? If so then I will shut my mouth but he seem to have some support. BTW the guy is leavin, why not just say your goodbyes and let it go. I got here and one of the first post I read was this one, and I am happy for him. I dont know anything about the guy. I would think if people didnt like him, they would all bash him.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:56pm #184986
FutureoftheGameI thought their job was to EDIT. You can use Word like he said he was spoiled to. I guess there are haters everywhere tho.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 7:57pm #184988

llperezBut if not , then awesome for him. But I don’t know him anymore then I know any of you guys. And as a person who went to college for 4 years as an english major, I have no problems with spelling errors on the internet. But newsance is’nt even close to a spelling error, that is just flat out wrong. And that kind of spelling probably does’nt translate to being an editor for espn.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 8:01pm #184992
FutureoftheGameWell thats true. I hope he was just excited and typing fast or something. Im sure there is a reason. Im happy for the guy and i dont see why everyone else isnt too.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 8:54pm #185008
kaceyParticipantHard to believe him with the misspelled words. Doesn’t everyone have a spell check running as you type your messages/comments on this site? My misspelled words are always underlined in red and it takes one second to correct a misspelled word. I’m asking because I’m unsure if that feature is available on everyone’s computer or not.
Anyways, like Sheltwon said, it will just be a matter of time to see if he gives the site a shout out.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 8:56pm #185009

llperezproof read my comment before I post it.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 8:57pm #185010
FutureoftheGameI dont have that. I wish I did. Is there a way to turn it on or somethin? That is a good point though. So here is a question. Does the editor get to write?? Or does he just decide what gets put onto the pages of the mag?

0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/20/2009 - 3:11am #185040
xbadgerhustlerParticipantmy other thought is, if this is his ‘cousin’s’ account like he said earlier, than he shouldn’t have to ‘shut it down’ lol. that’s the point of the internet, you get an alias and no one really knows what/who you are. to think that espn would track down all their employees to make sure they aren’t posting on the internet seems farfetched…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/20/2009 - 6:21pm #185768
bluedevils12Participanton sum real $hit i think this guy is lying. i mean 1st of all ive had sum conversations with him and he didnt seem all that bright 2 be given a job by espn. hell ive heard sum of yall make valid points against him. 2nd of all why the hell would the agent of a so called EDITOR tell him not 2 give out his real name? isnt the point of goin 2 espn to raise ur exposure and show ur knowledge of basketball? i mean i bet staurt scott wasnt goin around saying i cant give u my real name becuz i dont want u 2 kno me on espn. wat the hell? and last but not least u guys have already pointed it out. the editor cant spell
