Jack WoganParticipantToronto was in a three-way tie for the seventh-most turnovers last season at 15.2 per game, but as they only forced their opposition to turn it over 13.2 times, they had the league’s third-worst differential. Of the 18 players who played for the Raptors last season, the top-five in turnovers per 36 minutes will not be back. Notably, the turnovers from Carter, Bayless, Forbes and Barbosa will no longer be an issue.

Jack WoganParticipantAdditions like rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, trade acquisition Ben Gordon, amnesty claim Brendan Haywood, and free agent signee Ramon Sessions all make this team look a whole lot better heading into 2012-2013, at least on paper, and further development from young players like Gerald Henderson and Bismack Biyombo shouldn’t hurt anything, either. Adding to the optimism is the fact that there are a lot of people who believe new head coach Mike Dunlap is good enough to bring it all together.

ZYHEHEWAParticipantEven though Ginobili (35 years old) and Duncan (36) aren’t getting any younger, the Spurs’ brass has rejuvenated it’s veteran core with the likes of Leonard (21) and stellar bench play from Gary Neal. Compounding the talent of the starting five is underrated big man DeJuan Blair along with veterans Stephen Jackson and Boris Diaw, making them one of the best reserve cores in the NBA.

gar3w222ParticipantAt one point during shooting drills with Kyrie Irving and a few others, the Cavs’ free-agent acquisition buried 12 consecutive 3-pointers, each from different spots. Yes, it’s just practice, and no one was defending Miles. But it’s still a good sign that when open, he can knock it down.
