Hi its BenParticipantWatching the OSU and Florida game, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that David Lighty is in the same mold as a Wesley Matthews or Courtney Lee.. wouldn’t you think?
He’s been overshadowed in his 5 years now at Ohio State but he’s really looking good in the early going and knocking down the 3 and driving to the lane. Let me know what you think!

nbaretroParticipantI think he can be a servicable guard in the NBA. He’s been solid at OSU, just got hurt a lot and never stood out.

IndianaBasketballParticipantLighty still has a lot to prove to scouts before he’s a draft pick. I like him at the college level, but I don’t know if he does anything well enough to be a pro. And what position will he play in the pro’s? I don’t like his ball handling and I don’t think he has the range to be a two. And he’s not big enough to be a three.
I like him at the defensive end too, but he’s not quick laterally. I just don’t know about him at the next level… He has qualities coaches like though, so maybe that’ll be enough to work his way onto a team.
He’ll have to play his way into the draft at Portsmouth and the NBA Pre-Draft Camp.

sheltwon3ParticipantHow did Wesley Mathews go undrafted. He is outplaying most of the guys that were drafted the year he was available. He can score and defend. He can play a role or be a go to guy to so degree. I though his contract was a bad deal but obviously Portland got that one right.

JNixonParticipantHe is in the same mold as Matthews. I’ve always liked Lighty Jr as a sleeper prospect. He can be a spot-up shooter and a physical defender in NBA, but he’s probably not quite as naturally talented as Courtney Lee and he’s probably not even as talented as Matthews, who is a classic overachiever.
