adumParticipantThis team doesn’t look like it’s rebuilding it certainly is not competing for anything what’s going on.
They need to shake things up now, trade Calderon ( his worth is very high) he’s playing really good but I don’t think he’s going to be apart of our future.
The young players Ed, Bayless and DeMar are not panning out and look like they won’t be a fit . DeMar looks as if he’s not interested and shows little motivation I know it’s a bad team but he was supposed to be our leader he’s not showing it especially with barg out. Ed has a motor but looks extremely raw on the offensive end he needs alot of work on both low post and mid range scoring . Bayless shows spurts of being our guy at the point but is very inconsistent he’s either a scorer or a passer he can’t find a balance to mesh both.
The only guy I can trust right now us Andrea who was playing at an all star level before the injuries .
From my point of view the future looks blurry with the current roster plus Jonas and another lottery pick I hope this team can be nice for once.0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/29/2012 - 10:43am #642499

JaeEvolutionParticipantYou can’t base it off other teams that did it so quickly like OKC, rebuilding is about being patient and making the right moves in the draft and if you can get a steal in a trade. Next year the Raptors will be introducing TWO top 5 picks into their lineup who both will have amazing potential. Also they will be getting back a fully healthy Barg who will cause nightmares at the 4 with Jonas at the 5. I don’t see why you would be angry, they have made good moves to build their team up and next year you can actually look for them to show signs of improvement.

Troupa DupsParticipantAs a Raptor fan why would I give up a young scorer in Bargnani plus a starting point guard for a pf past his prime, soft and on the decline. GET REAL!!!!

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe Lakers get the pure passing Pg and a younger softer Gasol type while the Raps get a disgruntled Gasol a year and half away from becoming a FREE AGENT…
Just Trade Calderon for the Trade Exemption and find a way to move a good bigman like Bargnani for some picks or pieces to build with(Not Around)

JunkYardDogParticipantWait a little bit adum…. in several months you’ll have a new center in jonas valanciunas, another rookie from that 2012 draft.
but I’m agree with you the raptors don’t seem like they try to rebuild. Maybe they don’t have good offers from other teams for calderon ?

Troupa DupsParticipantHow do they not seem like theyre rebuilding exactly? It’s not as though we have a squad full of veterans. This Raptor team reminds me of the Damon Stoudemire years, competitive just not able to close games. With the addition of Jonas and another 1st round pick? If we can grab a talented penetrating point guard in FA we’ll have a solid group of core players and well on our way. Next year is the year to show and prove.

FellyBaby905Participantits because we are not rebuilding….we are now "building"……if we had bargs we might be close to a playoff spot….so thank god hes injured, so we can be bad for the rest of the season and get a good draft pick to come in along with jonas…….the only thing im frustrated with is not trading barbosa to clear cap space for chandler

fliptonnParticipantlol you guys were complaining about bargniani rebounding, and gasol can still straight up ball

Bmore_DCParticipant"if the raptors had bargs theyd be close to a playoff spot"
wishful thinking if i must say so myself…

BouncyBallParticipantRaptors only need 4 more wins to be in 9th place… Thats pretty close to a playoff spot, and im positive bargs would have provided atleast that many wins if he were healthy.

FellyBaby905Participantexactly, if bargs were healthy we be close to the 8th spot if not in it…..and nobody needs that this year, lets get another top 5 pick n go hard next year…….hopefully
