SealioParticipantDo you think that Iggy and Kobe could actually play together. Iggy could be there defensive stopper but i don’t know if his game compliments the Lakers like Odom’s does. I think Odom creates mismatches on both ends of the floor.
I think Iggy is the better player and maybe could be a building block for the future but not sure if he fits right now.
This trade sounds very very unlikely.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIggy starting would give the Lakers more punch than with Odom coming off the bench. Iggy and Kobe is faster than Kobe and Artest. Iggy is the defensive guy they need who can also score. Then bring Ron Ron off the bench like DeShawn Stevenson. I kind of like the trade for LA. Kobe is the primary scorer and the two other keys are Pau and Bynum. The Lakers did well with Ariza a couple of years ago and Iggy is like Ariza but with a better offensive game. The Lakers get faster on the wing and another good wing defender.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI don’t see how this trade could work in favor for either team.
The Lakers do not need a defensive stopper since they already have Artest, Barnes, and Kobe. The 76ers basically give up their best player for one of the best bench players in the league. It just doesn’t compliment either team at all.

apb540ParticipantThis trade has zero chance of ever happening. Sam Amick should either be hung or fired. Which ever can happen quickest.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantKobe and Iggy would play well together, especially with kobe’s diminising skills, but I would still rather have Lamar, not even a question about him making 4-5 mil less!

DowJonezBFGParticipantiggy on the lakers reminds me of when Ariza was on the team and they had that defense, athleticism, and energy at the 3. Iggy is not much of a scorer but he adds a missed dynamic. Odom has been more than just an instrumental piece for the lakers though so its hard, keeping him and getting iggy would be a major upgrade but that doesnt seem like a possibility at this point

apb540ParticipantMinuses out the ass from all the Lakers fans thinking the Sixers are going to hand you their best player. Keep em coming. Maybe we will throw in Holliday if you sweeten the deal up with Devin Ebanks or Ron Artest’s awesome contract.

DaGuywhodidurmaParticipantall you guys are forgetting about one important tidbit. lamar odom is basically a very talented expiring contract. hes only guatanteed 3 mil next year while iguodala is owed 44 mil for the next three years. in this trade the sixers can rid themselves of iguodalas big contract and get the sixth man in return. its pretty fair for both teams when you consider the money involved.

iguapops420Participant@TOL23, you don’t watch much Laker basketball do you? Artest a stopper still? Barnes anything more thn average D and great hustle? Kobe even really trying defensively much anymore? None of those guys are what Iggy could be with 2 7fters behind him. Not to mention part of the reason LAL struggled so much wasn’t just that they lacked shooters, but that they lacked anyone who could create offense for themselves or others on the perimeter save for Bean, and even he is clearly showing that he no longer can create for others anymore. With coming on this year having finally found his niche as a point forward defensive stopper, he could actually fit in much nicer than Ariza a few years ago and could get even beter on D after some practices with Ron Ron getting physical w/ him. Kobe woud finaly be able to hit the mid post that would truely allow him to bring out the killer in him. As mentioned earlier, see MJ/Scottie. If this deal were to go down, I would fully expect LAL to get a couple knockdown shooters to compliment Iggy on the perimeter and KGB down low and mid/high post. Probably a shooting big and pg.
