mrsmith_6ParticipantWe have all heard the various trade rumors involving Andre Igudola. So far we have had:
1) Iggy for Monta Ellis
2) Iggy for Chris Kaman
One trade that I would like to see is Minnesota trade the #2, #20, Wayne Ellington, and cash to Philly for Iggy and the #16 pick.
Why Should Minnesota?
This will solve their hole at the 2 position, give them some vet leadership, defense, and a great running mate with Rubio. With the 16th pick they can use it to find a Center or BPA.
Why Should Sixers?
With #2 pick they can select Kanter as their center for the future (and don’t have to overpay Hawes or can let him walk ). With the #20 pick they can take a scorer like Jordan Hamilton or Brooks. Ellington gives the Sixers 3pt shooting, something that they didn’t have this year. The cash comes in handy once a new CBA is signed so they can get some FAs ( like Rick Jackson PF out of Syracuse or Greg Smith PF/C then move Spreights to backup Center position)
Your thoughts?

sammybuckeye13ParticipantIf the 6ers trade for the 2 pick it will be to get Williams, not Kanter.

apb540ParticipantNo Buckeye, we would have to be taking Kanter in this situation. We already have Thad Young so what the hell is Derrick Williams going to do for us. Kanter would be the pick, followed by a scorer like mrsmith said.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantWe are more likely to trade Lou Williams or Meeks, Nocioni, Hawes and the 16th pick for a player like Kaman and a 2nd rounder…Iggy is one our building blocks not trade bait…

sbealer22ParticipantI usually like what you have to say but
a) Iggy is a trade piece at this point
b) that trade is horrible for both sides. The Clippers do not need a bunch of back-ups and the sixers would lose all there depth in this trade.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantBut not for Monta Ellis or Chris Kaman, we are looking at Kanter as our best case scenario in a trade with Minnesota, worst case is we get Beasley, Darko and the 20th pick for Iguadola and Hawes, the Wolves would then be drafting Kanter…Minnesota and Philadelphia have been in steady talks about a possible Iggy for the 2nd pick or the Beasley/Darko combo, Philly is very high on Beasley, they think he can be either the franchise Sf or Pf with the right teammates and coach…

sammybuckeye13ParticipantI haven’t heard anything about them wanting Kanter and Williams is the clear #2 prospect. Holiday/Turner/Williams could be monstrous; trading Iggy for Kanter would completely change the well-cultivated defensive nature of the team, not to mention Kanter is a huge question mark. Regardless, evidence of him being a very very mediocre defender has come to light and the 6ers won’t pass on Williams who has greater potential as an all-around franchise player.
They also don’t technically have Thad Young, he’s a restricted free agent and is coveted by numerous teams.

apb540ParticipantThey do technically have Thad Young because the Sixers can match any offer he gets, therefore he is still their property. And just cuz D-Williams is the consensus pick doesn’t mean that he will be taken by a team who has a gapping hole at Center with no need for a SF/PF. I would rather have Iggy over Williams.
