Hi guys, newish member here, but i’ve been stalking this site for awhile now cause i enjoy seeing the comments and opinions of everyone around here. Anyway, to get our minds out of the crazy (and bracket exploding) tournament, lets talk about the draft! I was just wondering…

If you were the lakers, and you somehow lucked into the second pick, and embiid is picked first, who do you take?

If you were the kings picking number six, and embiid, parker, wiggins, exum and randle are gone, do you pick smart or vonleh? or anyone else?

who’s the best and most realistic pick the sixers would take if they got wiggins with their first pick?

who do you want the bulls getting in the draft with the 16th and 19th pick? can james young drop to them?

Finally, who do you like for the spurs, heat and thunder? (AKA the championship teams with a draft pick)

    cheers guys!

Lakers: wiggins, Kobe will teach him how to work hard and demand the ball and be the prick you need to be to win championships

Kings: Vonleh, Smart cant shoot and this team already has IT who I think could be the PG of the future.  He’s been great this year.

Sixers: Aaron Gordon.  A line up of MCW, Wiggins, Gordon, Young, Noel would be athletic and they could almost switch 1-5.  Gordon and young would both sort of play combo forward together. Team can’t shoot but they can fix that with 3 and d guys.

Bulls: Payne and Stauskas would be a successful  draft to me.  Stauskas can play the two with Butler and would help space the floor.  Payne could replace Taj as the backup forward if they decide to move on from Boozer and start Taj.  Both guys have range and would create space for the forwards.

Spurs: Hairston, you would not have to worry about him in the Spurs system.  Could play the two of the future. Team will probably draft and stach someone though.

Heat: Olivier Hanlan,  A good shooter from BC.  Doesnt get exposure on a bad team, but he is a 6’3” point guard who can shoot and does not demand the ball a ton.  If they lose chalmers he could sort of make up for the floor spacing Chalmers gives the Heat.

Thunder:  WCS dont know if he could fall to 21, but he is not even starting anymore.  Thunder do not really have any needs.  With their other pick they need a wing scorer or 4 to play.  Does Cleanthony Early make sense.  He is athletic has improved his range and could be a pretty decent role player.

Lakers: Wiggins.  Best wing in the draft with the most "upside" of anyone other than Embiid.

Kings: I would go with Marcus Smart.  He and Thomas can run the backcourt.  Smart is a very, very good player.

I like a bigger guy for the Sixers.  Maybe Montrezl Harrell.  I like the idea of MCW, Wroten, Wiggins, Harrell, and Nerlens Noel.  Trade Thad Young for a pick and a veteran on an expiring contract (Tay Prince and the Grizz pick would be good for them).

The Thunder should look at Jarnell Stokes as an off the bench bully at the power forward spot.  He can score inside and rebound.  He could play with either Ibaka or Steven Adams on the front line.

Payne looks like a guy that all the contenders would look at: Chicago, Miami, OKC, Memphis, San Antonio.

Patric Young could also be a guy that could really help out a contender as a third big.

Lakers: Wiggins- star power and flash that LA requires in a franchise guy (would hate to see this happen)

Kings: Smart, they need his play making, defensive toughness that Malone will love, and leadership.

    Sixers: Gary Harris/ Zach Lavine

Bulls: Harrell or Gordon and Stauskas or James Young

Heat: WCS-Paint protector of the future.
    Thunder: Stash someone overseas
Spurs: Nick Johnson, guy competes with the best of them.

    Lakers- Wiggins

Kings-Vonleh to pair down low with Cousins.

Bulls- a sg or sf like james young or Stauskas, maybe Payne.

Thunder- WCS if he falls there, if not then maybe trade that pick for a veteran like varejao since its win now for them

Spurs- a big for the future. Patrick young might be a reach but somebody like that.

Heat- I like Russ Smith there

Toronto – WCS. Jval is more of a smooth do-everything-er and if they wanna beat LeBron ever they need rim protection. They could play him with Jval or trade Jval if he pans out, I say give him ~18 mins per game as a freshman and see how good he is.

Atlanta – Also WCS. Would form a nice 3 big rotation with Horford and Millsap, and would compliment both those guys. Remember, Horford is an injury prone PF.

Philly at ~10 – Gary Harris. Fits with the athletic theme and gives MCW an ok shooter to kick out to, and would form a great defensive backcourt with MCW, who would offset his small size deficiency.

Kings – With it looking like Embiid might slip, I say do your utmost to grab him if you’re Sacto. Embiid and Cousins would be a good pair who’d complement each other.

Bulls – I’d like to see them trade back and grab both the Harrison twins, if they declare. (I know they might not) Thibs could whip them into shape, and the fact remains they have lottery talent.

Thunder – Stauskas, if he slips (or they could/should trade for him). Westbrook really doesn’t have enough guys to kick out to.

Doubt Thibs wants to deal with the Harrison twins in any capacity.

Spurs – Bogdanovic (fits their team perfectly)

Lakers – Exum maybe even Smart (need that player who can blossom in to a star for post-kobe days)

Bulls – Stauskas or James Young (add even more depth to a fairly deep team; Mirotic could help the frontcourt)

Clippers – Payne (would be a nice compliment to Blake Griffin; gives the Clips a different look at the 4 spot)

Heat – Capela (or any late round Euro to stash and keep off the payroll… Nurkic maybe)

Suns – Saric and Micic would be nice for them. They have a ton of players with expiring contracts.

Philly – Wiggins and Harris (MCW, Harris, Wiggins, Thad, Noel… good start for them)

Boston – Parker would be ideal, Embiid would fit nice as well; would allow Kelly to move to PF and give them more size and length around the rim.

Heat- WCS : an athletic/shot blocking 7 footer who runs the floor like a guard. he’d fit right in with Miami, he can run on the fast break and also be effective in the half court on the defensive end.

Philly- Wiggins: continue to build on the solid core they have, and select the best overall prospect in this draft imo.

Magics- Exum: it would allow them to move Oladipo to the 2 and have a PG with tremedous upside.

Kings : Marcus Smart. IT will be a free agent and demand good money, they could let him walk and get a cheaper option who plays better defense and has upside on the offensive end if he can develop a consistent jumper.

Memphis: James Young or Stauskas. add shooting thats really needed on the perimter.

Lakers- Parker- I think he would be able to show more poise as far as being a leader in LA with all the medias pressure and expectations left by Kobe then Wiggins and bring a complete product to the table.

Kings-Smart- You bring in Marcus Smart for the little things he does that Sacramento doesnt. His fight, drive, competitive spirit and all atound game. Bpa out of the two as well.

76ers-Gary Harris, Aaron Gordon, Adreian Payne-  Payne would be a great fit with Noel and Wiggins playing pick n roll/pop with MCW but it would be hard to pass up on the talent and potential of Harris and Gordon.

Bulls- Stauskas or Young and Gordon, Harrell, Payne, WCS- Assuming the Bulls give Augistin a payday which I think they will because I dont think Augistin wants to be a league journeyman again they should get some shooting and another big to give Noah some relief.
