Forte IVParticipantDidn’t the Thunder leave it in Seatle though? Wasn’t that the whole point of changing the name. I could have sworn I remember reading an article about them leaving everything behind in respect.

SwatLakeCityParticipantThe best chance Seattle has of another team is if the Kings were to relocate to Seattle. The Thunder will be in OKC for quite awhile. Their city loves them, they have one of the loudest arenas along with the Jazz, they are playing very well, so there’s no chance OKC moves anytime soon. The Kings may move but their mayor, Kevin Johnson seems determined to keep the team in Sacramento, the while the owners, the Maloof brothers, have other ideas.

CynthiaParticipant@SuperNova854, yes I believe you’re right, and recall reading something about that as well. Seattle holds all history as far as I know. It was as if the Thunder was just a brand new team, not a moved team(even though they kept the players).
I just looked up on Wikipedia about the settlement:
"According to the settlement, items associated with the SuperSonics’ history in Seattle, including trophies, banners, and retired jerseys, stayed in the city and it was placed in the Museum of History and Industry."

boffacheeriosParticipantI always felt that seattle’s "Squatch" mascott was the best in the NBA, outside of Slamson of course.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI hate the fact that the Thunder are one of the best teams in the NBA and would of been the best sonic teams since Payton took us to the finals.
They took our team.
Named them the most corney name since the bobcats and gave them the worst color scheme in the NBA.
Seattle is the in the top 3 cities on the west coast. I don’t know how we dont have a team..in anyorder u see fit(SF.SEATTLE.LA)
Gotta miss the good ol’days when we had BC and portland with teams. I honestly think Vancouver never should of lost a team. WAY cooler city than toronto.

aarondsonixfanParticipantOh, I watched "Sonicsgate, the Requiem of a Team" and they said that OKC took all of the retired jerseys, records and history of the Sonics to OKC, so I guess they were wrong…?
