OhCanada-ParticipantThe 76ers team has found themselves in a tricky situation. Many people thought this maybe the year they attempt to put together a team dedicated to winning. Drafting Russell, getting Embiid in the lineup, drafting shooters around the core and bringing over McRae and Saric this and or next year seemed like enough to build around. Now with Embiids foot reportedly acting up yet again it seems Philly may draft another big.
It seems as if Towns will be off the board when Philly picks leaving Okafor and Porzingis. I don’t think a combo of Okafor, Noel, and Embiid could work longterm but I do believe Porzingis, Noel and Embiid could work.
One benefit the 76ers could have from drafting Jahlil is his trade value. They could trade him in the future for picks and or assets after giving him 30-35 mpg this year. If they are looking to trade this pick in the future rather than keep it I think Jahlil will get them more productivity quicker than Porzingis.

SmokedoutParticipantI hope we trade down for winslow and keep building a defensive minded team or that russell falls to us and keep him.

KHAM83ParticipantIt comes down to how much you and other teams believe in a prospect. If Russell is off the board at 3, and Philly truly doesn’t believe everyone outside of Okafor is any good, why draft them because of need? If you cannot trade the pick, pick the player you believe can be a star, and sort it out later.

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantAbout the timing of Joel Embiid having "setback" on his recovery. Hmmmmm I wonder what Hinkie’s thinking right now.

Bed HeadParticipantPart of me wants to just say, “At this point, what difference does it make (who they take)?”
Or to quote Kate Winslet in The Reader, “It doesn’t matter what I think. It doesn’t matter what I feel. The dead are still dead.”
I mean, I love Saric. Porzingis, too. And Noel’s solid. (Okafor, I’m more “meh” about.) It’s just none of them are Embiid (obviously).
But yeah, I suppose if there’s a silver lining, it would be Philly’s freedom to choose BPA without concern of creating a frontcourt clusterfunk.
