In that scenario, Embry and longtime Raptors scouting director Jim Kelly would then either be asked to oversee Toronto’s draft in Colangelo’s place, or Embry would simply become interim GM as of July 1."

This is the most horrible thing that can happen to the Raptors if BC is gone.  Kelly has a history of recommending garbage in the draft.  He was the one who recommended Babcock (then rookie GM on the spot for weeks) to draft Hoffa.  He was behind the drafting of almost every single busts with the Raptors.

I don’t understand why this guy is still with the Raptors and is the head of scouts for so many years.  His record is horrible.

If this is what the Raptors would fall back to, then we better keep BC.  At least he won’t mega screw the draft.

Kareem had already demanded a trade and at least Embry got a few decent pieces for him; Brian Winters who made a couple all star games and was their starting guard for years, Junior Bridgeman who was their best 6th man for the better part of a decade and Elmore Smith who averaged 15.6 PPG, 11.4 RPG and 3.1 BPG as the Bucks center the following season.

That’s more than what Colangelo got for Bosh last off season…

By no mans did I mean he did it on his own will. It was similar to the Melo deal, he had too. Go some good pieces in return, by that I mean he has been in the league for a long time and has alot of experience in these regards. He has some more recent experiene with the Raps. Last time we had him in charge he traded Jalen ROse and a 1st for an aged Antonio Davis, cap relief I guess. That was the Bargnani draft and the pick was the uggets 1st which only provided Marty Collins.

Although he was also influencial in many of Babcocks famous GM moves. Those include drafting Joey Grahm, Charlie Villanueva, Rafeal Aroujo, and more strong headaches.

I dont know, I would just feel more comfortable having BC on deck for this important year.
