TomShoeParticipantI’m sure that everyone on this board already knows that the Cavs, if they don’t do anything with their pick, are interested in taking Alex Len with their #1 pick.
Noel is the #1 pick that seemingly no one else wants. He’s got great defensive potential, but there are myriad holes in his game. He’s essentially a 19 y/o beanpole with long arms that can’t score. And yet teams are afraid to pass on him anyway.
My question is, if the Cavs are brave enough to pass on Noel for Len or some other guy, just how far will he fall?
The Magic don’t need a C right now, they have Vucevic. They’re more in need of a PG, since Jameer isn’t getting any younger.
The Wizards’ needs are pretty obvious, since Jan Vesely sucks and Singleton hasn’t panned out.
Bobcats don’t need another raw defensive player, they have Biyombo.
The Suns might work, they need talent just about everywhere.
If not #1, where do you think Noel will fall?

DlesnieParticipantI doubt he gets past us at 4. We wouldn’t pass on that talent just because we have Biyombo, that would be ridiculous. Biz is good but we need big bodies and Noel would fit the bill of what we need in Charlotte.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI can’t see him slipping past Phoenix at 5, and it seems to be a good fit for him in the sense that there won’t be pressure for him to come back too soon with them in full rebuild mode and they have the premiere medical staff in the league. That being said as a Suns fan I don’t want Noel, his hands and shooting touch are big red flags for me.

kazamParticipantI don’t see Noel getting past Washington at 3. Perhaps Washington would select him in order to deal him sort of idea

HitsterParticipantWashington would seem a logical place for him as they have Okafor out of contract next summer so he could develop there and then be part of maybe a 3 man big rotation along with Seraphin supporting Nene.
Plus they have scorers on the team in Wall, Beal etc and Nene is a decent scoring big so they can allow Noel to develop mainly as a defensive player without worrying too much on offence whilst a team like Charlotte needs frontcourt offence.
As a Phoenix fan I’d echo what Chilbert said, our medical staff may be good for him but I don’t think he’d be a great pick for us.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantIn the News section of the home page here there is a Q and A article with Noel. When he was asked who he visited, he said
“Cleveland, Washington, Orlando (top three picks). I’m not going to Charlotte (No. 4 pick).”

He could fall far, but DC seems the most likely. He actually would be a better center running with Wall than Kyrie is the long run. The big problem is that other team doctors won’t get an up close view till after they pick him.

BigMac12111ParticipantI don’t see him dropping past Orlando. In a rebuild you need assets, and while he may not be a great one, Noel is definitely an asset that multiple teams will be looking at.
