Which of these teams would have the most wins next year if they signed LeBron next summer? For arguments sake, let’s pretend all teams bring back the same exact roster they have right now.

Cavaliers (MoWill, Shaq, Verajao, Parker, Moon, Gibson, Hickson, West, Ilgauskas)

Nets (Harris, Lopez, Lee, Jianlian, TWill, CDR, Alston)

Knicks (Gallo, Chandler, Harrington, Lee, Nate, Hughes, Duhon, Hill)

If you add LeBron to any of these groups, who would be the best team? Take into account how guys will be better/worse in another year. Nets might get extra credit since they are the only one with a lottery pick which should be top 5 at least.

The reason I made this thread is because I hear a lot of people talking about how he wants to win so why would he leave for NY/NJ ? But is Cleavland really much better? You take LeBron off the cavs, and I don’t think that team makes the playoffs. Plus the KNicks and Nets are both younger and have more talent that is still getting better. I’m not saying LeBron leaves, but I just don’t understand the people who act like he wouldn’t leave because he wants to win like the Cavs are stacked. Truth is Lebron probably makes just about any team win 50 games.

I believe he is best off going to NY. I say this because this is where he wants to be he wants to be center of attention he wants the media all over him, that is what he really does live for. As where he is better off to win it is in NY as well, they have the components to be great in the future yes they are struggling now, but that’s not a talent issue. It’s more if a chemistry issue i.e look at the Rockets no talent at all really, but still doing well. If you take Lebron off the Cavs the Knicks would probably be better. So i day Lebron has the best chance in NY especially if they sign another Max free agent ala Bosh or Wade

Hey man, Sry if I caused this post. I know I said that before. Actually like 30 min ago. I think that he should stay because the Cavs are built around him. They play with Lebron in mind. He is the reason every player on that team is there. They either fit his style or they are there to help him. In those other places, there is something there before Lebron. In Cleveland, all of those players dont know the Cavs before Lebron. Do you get what Im sayin??

I actually think if we are just going by talent, then the Nets would be the best place for him of those 3 teams. They have two guys in Harris and Lopez who are better then anyone on NY. They also have a top 5 pick coming while NY does not have a pick. They also have more money then any team in the entire league to spend this summer for FA’s. TWill,Lee and Jianlian are also very good young players.

Yes agreed if you go soley based on talent the nets are the best place for him to play but you have to look at the off court intangibles the big apple brings to players that play there its where the limelight is at. If NY comes a contender again its where players would want to play its where Lebron could be marketed to his full extent its the biggest media outlet besides L.A.

Add the clippers to this list. It would definitely be them due to them having BG, EJ, jordan, kaman, and baron and thornton along with a good backup pg in telfair.

If we add the clips, then yeah they might be the best. But I just don’t see any way he goes there. I was just going off the 3 teams that seem to be the rumored destinations.

yeah, I’m not sure Lebron wants to be in NJ and it could be years before they go to Brooklyn. The KNicks would be the big apple and all the attention on him.

You make a great point but, teams dont only need talent to win. They need chemistry. In NJ, the other good players need the ball in their hands to be successful. Harris is a ball hawk and so is CDR. They are the 2 most prolific scorers on that team. Lopez would also pose a problem because he doesnt exactly have a great midrange game. He would get in the lane and clog it up for Lebron. Yi has promise to be the PF Lebron needs but if every other position is in the wrong, then I dont see it working.

In NY, there is nobody. He isnt going there unless they can sign Bosh first. Then, maybe, if they can get the role players, and a new coach, Lebron will play there. Do you think that Lebron, who has played for a defensive minded coach for his entire career, will accept the lack of defense D’Antoni will provide?? Who cares if he drops 50 a night if they dont win?? Just dont see it happening.

As far as LA goes, dont get your hopes up. He would hate playing with Baron Davis and he knows on the west coast he couldnt be King James because over there, Kobe is king.

good points 8thsin, one big question about NY is the defense. Neither the team’s players or coach are very interested in defense. Don’t see LeBron jumping at that unless they bring in some other guys. And with the clipps, no offense to the clippers, but they are the other team in LA and Kobe is the star of the town. Can’t see LeBron jumping at that either.

Lebron’s not leaving Cleveland..That team is built around him..But can u imagine him playing with the Hawks? They would be unbeatable!! Plus seeing Lebron &Josh play defense would be must seetv…lol..If they resigned Johnson….

llperez-  The Knicks don’t have enough money to sign LeBron then resign David Lee, Nate, & Harrington.  Realistically New York has too wait until 2011 to really get LeBron some help because that is when Eddy Curry & Jefferies contracts expire.  It isn’t all bout 2010 for the Knicks.  The next 2 free agent years are going to determine how much success New York has in the next decade.  Haha the pressure is on.

To answer your question the Nets would give LeBron the best chance at a title in the shortest amount of time.  That high lottery pick is a huge advantage.  Not to mention the Nets will also have another late 1st round pick in the 2010 draft & a very early 2nd round pick.  They are going to add 3 talented young players to that core.

He isn’t winning a title in Cleveland people…get that through your heads.  So why stay?

It is either New York or New Jersey…either one would be a good choice for LeBron.  He will have a serious chance at a title at either place within the next 3 years.

Why isnt he winning in Cleveland?? He almost did it when they were terrible. Why cant he do it this year or next. Think about next year. Shaq comes off the books which is like 20 million and Big Z IDK his contract. If they resign them for cheaper and snag a PF that fits their team, they could win next year.

8thDeadlySin- You apparently have way more faith in Varejao, Moon, Parker, Hickson, & Mo Williams than I do.  I just don’t see that core winning a title.  OK even if they sign somebody like Amare or Bosh, they still lose Big Z & Shaq.  Overall I just don’t see a championship team.  I don’t like the supporting cast.  Plus I really don’t think Amare or Bosh will sign with Cleveland even if LeBron stays.

knicks do not want to resighn anyone but maybe david lee definetly not robinson nor harrington so that money willl go to lebron and someone like boozer not necessarily another max and when hared jefferis and eddy curry come off the books in 2011 they could get another really good FA thus completing the team

you cant forget the New York has never gotten good free agents before why would that happen now? they also have multiple horrible contracts part of the front office messes fault, no good players gallerino might bew good but that’s not a given i just don’t see it and if he does he will regret it.

The thing is the Cavs put themselves in this disaster when they decided to try to put a bunch of old bums around him……….Hold on………….What did they do???????? They wasted 6 years of LeBrons career, They were supposed to surround with young talent he could grow with………..like OKC did with K.D……………Now KD is locked up with a sure fire bomb squad in OKC…………..While everyone in Clevland is having nightmares of him leaving…………And its clearly their fault.

    Cleveland
surrounded him with knockdown shooters to let Lebron wreak havoc by slashing
they are built to win with Lebron as the focal point of drawing double teams

they have been bad in the draft, esp on the Josh Smith miss in 2004,

Thank you Okeke. This team, like I said before, is built for Lebron. Those other teams wont be able to take Lebron in and have great chemistry. They have guys that need the ball just like Lebron does. Is Okeke the only person who understand me?
