bankjungParticipantI remember the Jazz get Ante Tomic that will be in NBA with in 2 years. That make me confuse why the Jazz draft Kanter.
In my opinion, the Jazz need PG and SG and the Jazz has a lot of big man.The Jazz system focus on good PG so i believe they select PG in this time so the jazz has space enough from AK contact to find good Center in free agent market like Oden and Gasol or The Jazz can do business with trade some PF for Center.
Sorry in my grammar.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantDon’t worry about your grammar. There are plenty of lifelong english speakers on this site that could learn from you.
I completely agree! If Tomic can add 10 pounds he’s a potential franchise center, and the Jazz already have Jefferson, Favors and Millsap (and Okur, who when healthy is damn good). I still believe in Knight; loved him out of high school, hard worker on and off the court, underrated athlete, proven competitor/leader in taking Kentucky to the Final 4, and can even play off the ball while we still have Harris. I hope it’s not all decided upon as some are saying.

BloodyCrumpetParticipantTomic just signed a four year extension with Real Madrid.
He’s not playing for the Jazz anytime soon, if ever.

Awesome-O-420ParticipantIf you happen to live in the Utah market, the Jazz have hinted that he will never come over. He hasn’t put on any weight in the past couple years and as BloddyCrumpet mentioned, he signed a 4 year extension with Real Madrid. As Tyrone Corbin put it, "I’m not sure how Tomic factors into our future plans". There just seems to be no discussion of him within the organization.

JunkYardDogParticipantthat was my point yesterday… tomic could be a great piece in the rebuilding jazz team
BUT tomic still has his contract ’till 2015 and his buyout clause is said to be … 7M$ !!!!
(it seems to me a little bit overestimated… maybe something closer to 3 M$)

HobbyOGParticipantDo the Jazz Fans hate Devin Harris that bad?? He had an injury season last year, dude was just an all-star a couple years ago and he is under 30! Don’t know about drafting a point..

MuggsyParticipantYeah, I just don’t understand why Jazz fans act as if Devin Harris doesn’t even exist. He’s no Deron Williams but he’s more proven than a rookie PG.

CodySLCParticipantForgot Tomic. Take Kanter and Jimmer. And see how Haris pans out next season.

PulseGlazerParticipantDevin Harris is proven. A proven loser. I was psyched for the Nets to get him and then watched him a ton. What a mess.

WizardofOzParticipantDevin Harris should be irrelavent to the Jazz’s draft pick. He’s solid, but he injury-prone and a gunner, and he’s not the future PG.
I think the Jazz should take Knight at #3 and probably Biyombo at #12. They already have a bunch of offensive-oriented bigs on thier team, and Kanter would just be a dime-a-dozen for them. They need a PG, and a defensive big.

jcomParticipantPeople need to stop saying that Ante Tomic "just signed a 4 year deal in Spain". The truth is that he signed a 3.5 year deal in January 2010. That means he has 2 years remaining on that deal. NBA teams (and Euro players) regularly buy out deals with 1 – 1.5 years remaining. So Tomic, in theory, could come to Utah for the lockout shortened 2011 – 2012 season (I know, very unlikely) or the 2012 – 2013 season (very likely). I think it’s a matter of whether or not he really wants to play in the league and in Utah.
Just thought I’d set the record straight.

King CaluchaParticipantLike the Raptors, it seems this pick was decided on "who the best available is". I really would have passed on Kanter if I were the Jazz’s GM (although he’s one of my favorites for the Top 5). However, they might be destroying what they do best by trading an already consolidated "community" of big man. We’ll have to wait to see who they trade and whether they compliment the team well with this trades.
