If I was the Cavs management, I would trade the team’s 2nd first round pick (the 1 given to them, from the Clippers), along with JJ Hickson, Christian Eyenga, Anderson Varejao, and cash, to the Sixers, for Evan Turner and Andres Nocioni…Turner who was a star at Ohio State, and # 2 pick, of the past years NBA Draft, would be better off, on a team, where he can be the go-to guy, make as much mistakes as possible and won’t get taken out the game, and definitely improve with consistent playing time…For the Cavs to get a top 3 pick, with their own first round pick and nab last year’s # 2 pick with their other first round pick, they would automatically be the winners of the draft

i like Evan Turner as a player and I agree he would be great to see in a cavs uniform but i feel that you are losing too much in this trade you suggested and even thought the cavs gain a soo to be potential solid player your losing alot of pieces

Maybe Philly could throw in a 2nd round pick or perphaps Maurice Speights…The Cavs could still then turn around, and trade Jamison, to a contender, to add some more young pieces…Also trade Baron Davis, for some young pieces…Then, they still have the 2nd round to add more players, and free agency…So they got some ways to full their roster

Cavs trade Jamison to a contender for some young players? Jamison is over the hill, pushing 34/35. No team will trade anything good for him, just throw away guys. No one will trade for Baron Davis and his monster contract. The only reason the Cavs took him was because a Top 10 pick was thrown in.

Second rounders usually amount to nothing but bench warmers who only suit up to fill out the bench. Sure, there are a few occasions a second rounder is a sleeper, but it rarely happens.

Trading away Hickson would be crazy. He is a nice young player who with the right development could turn into a very tough player. Add him with Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams or Barnes, Jones, Kanter, some combination of two of those players and that would be a nice little building block for the Cavs future.

Don’t count on FA’s going to Cleveland, the chances of that happening went to South Beach.

Hickson isn’t a cornerstone player, he’s so inconsistent, Varejao contract is bloated for the lil’ production he gives on the offensive end, Eyenga is raw as uncooked meat, and their 2nd first round pick, which will probably be anywhere from 8th to 10th, will probably pan out to just be a role player, so the Cavs would’nt lose too much

Philly gets… a lottery pick, cash, Hickson ( 13ppg 8.3 rpg 22years old) Varajao (9.1ppg 9.7rpg) and Eyenga(7.2ppg 3 rpg 21 years old) which equals 3 guys under 30 who accound for 29ppg and 21 rpg a lotto pick and money.

Cleveland gets…Evan Turner (7ppg 4 rpg 22 years old) and Andres Nocioni(6ppg 3rpg 31 years old)                 which equals…two players, one over 30 with the combined production of 13ppg and 7 rpg)

I’m not even an Evan Turner hater, I think he’ll be alright in the long run, but you that is wildly weighted towards the 6ers. I, in no way, see how that makes the Cavs any better….at all.  Turner’s potential isn’t any greater than Hickson’s, so why would Cleveland give away him, a lottery pick, money, a solid role player and a guy who’s 21 and is playing well for a 31 year old Nocoini with knee problems who barely cracks Philly’s rotation anymore and Evan Turner?

For 1, Nocioni contract expires next season, while Varejao’s contract runs through the 2015…So the Cavs would save money, and Andres expiring contract, along with Jamison’s, would be a good package, at the deadline to acquire a star player…And It’s not like the Cavs would just get Turner, they would still have whoever they drafted with their top 3 pick…Turner is a # 2 pick, Philly won’t just give him away for lil’ or nothing, so although it does seem 1 sided, that’s way it works in the NBA…Turner, and let’s say, Kyrie Irving or Derrick Williams, would be 2 young building blocks for the future…Hickson will not be an All-Star, Turner has a better chance to be a future All-Star

The Cavs unload Varejao’s awful contract, give up an inconsistent and overrated player in Hickson, and Eyenga who is of no need to the Sixers (Iggy & Thad.)  The only real asset the Cavs give up is that pick, but would you rather have Evan Turner or a pick in the 7-9 range in this draft?  Plus the Cavs get a veteran expiring contract.  The Sixers would never even consider doing this deal since it helps them in no way, plus they love ET.  Don’t let his playing time fool you.

You included too much money and too many people in the trade but i can see Cavs at least looking into this especially when they could possibly draft Irving and they Davis a gunner.  I think you keep Varejao and Eyenga.  You are giving up Hickson who is a proven young player at the 4 and a top 10 pick.  That should be more than enough to take a player 6ers can’t use right now and a player with a hefty contract but little production.

If the Sixers say no, that’s an awful trade and decline it?  Jamison or Baron Davis??  Seriously, just cuz Turner doesn’t play doesn’t mean he isn’t a huge part of their future.  Collins simply isn’t big on playing rookies, although I would of liked to seen ET get 18-22 minutes tonite since Lou and Meeks were both off their game.
