TRC1991ParticipantHere is what teams should do this year if they were to draft to fill a specific need rather than draft BPA
Atlanta- Good floor-general point man with experience
Boston- Young, athletic wing that can take over for either Allen or Pierce in a few years
Charlotte- A center that can compete both on O and on D
Chicago- Obiously a shooting guard who can play defense and shoot at the same time
Dallas- A power forward who can score to be the heir apparent to Dirk
Denver- A big time scoring wing to take over for Melo when he leaves
Detroit- True point guard
Golden State- Big defender who can play the 4/5 spot off the bench
Houston- A center with shot-blocking ability
Indiana- A power forward with range and a low-post game
LA Clippers- Backup 4/5 guy that can provide minutes when Kaman leaves
LA Lakers- Point guard of the future, I think Demetri Mccamey would fit well
Memphis- A backup point guard to Conley who can get you 18 minutes a game
Miami- A defensive-minded tough center
Milwaukee- A forward who can actually put the ball in the basket
Minnesota- First they need a commitment from Rubio, then they need a shooting guard of the future
New Jersey- A wing who shoots high percentage and can make plays in transition
New Orleans- A power forward of the future once DX leaves
New York- Young center with athleticism and size
Oklahoma City- A backup small forward who can also play the 2 and 4 if they go small
Orlando- Big man. Space-eater in particular
Philadelphia- A center
Phoenix- A power forward who can turn into a franchise player
Portland- Point guard of the future
Sacramento- Point guard who will fit perfectly with reke
San Antonio- Somebody youthful and useful at the 3 spot
Toronto- A point guard to fill the shoes of the probably departing Calderon
Utah- a big guy who can come off the bench due to Okur’s descent from stardom to old injured guy
Washington- Small forward of the future

SwatLakeCityParticipantThat is not Utah’s biggest need. That would help but its not their biggest need. Their biggest need is a 2 guard. They only have ONE true shooting guard. That would be Raja Bell, in my opinion he should sit because he is not looking that good. Yeah he plays great defense, but how many times are you gonna play the Lakers or the Mavs, or the Heat, or the Celtics. Like 12 times. Bell should only start those games because those are the 4 toughest teams and especially at the 2 guard. Bell should start those games so he can try and stop those 2 guards on those respective teams. But for the other 70 games he should be sitting because the Jazz need more offense. Not defense. They already have plenty. They need a jump start. Have you not noticed that practically every single game they start out slow? That’s why they are loosing so many games. Its not because of a lack of defense or a lack of rebounds but because they start out slow. Miles is their bench who gives the Jazz bench power, but Bell needs to sit becaue he is playing so weak. Once in awhile he has a good game, but once in a while isn’t good enough. It needs to be consistent especially if you are starting. The Jazz need a second option. Someone to rely on when Dwill is hurt or when he is being stopped. He can’t do it all and frankly he has too much weight being out on his shoulders right now. A big guy would not do that. It would help, but it wouldn’t solve the main problem: A second option. What they need is a 2 guard. Someone like Alec Burks, Jordan Hamilton or Tyler Honeycutt. (If they keep playing as bad as they are they will make the lottery and miss the playoffs, sad but true.)

omphalosParticipantI feel like Charlotte don’t need a big man as much as they need a potential superstar wing to sell to the fans; Jackson isn’t the answer, and Wallace is a number 2 guy at best. They need a dominant SF or SG to be the face of the franchise, because Kwame isn’t doing that bad this year (never thought I’d write that haha) and he’s still only 9 years out of high school.

Providencefriars15ParticipantAtlanta has a log jam with guards any way and even though they need a true point guard they would have to move some of the guards they already have like teague or crawford. I wanted Boston to pick James Anderson instead of Avery Bradley last year because of his similarities to Nate. Nice post.

K.LOVE THE ALLSTAR"LA Lakers- Point guard of the future, I think Demetri Mccamey would fit well"
Perfect
And the one for Utah is spot on as well. A big man is what keeps them from competing with the Lakers when they play them. Millsap is too small as well as Jefferson
