JoeWolf1This is Part 2 of my game in which I post combine numbers from 10 players from past drafts and have you rank them 1-10 based only by their physical attributes.
The PF position is one of the ones I find the strangest as to what is "ideal size". It seems any player coming into the league under 6’10” is undersized, but most of the guys having success in the league at the PF position at that position are 6’8” or 6’9”. Here are the players…
PF A. Ht Barefoot(6’8.5”) Wt.(233) Wingspan(7’1.75”) Max Vert(35.5) Bench(12) 3/4 sprint (3.25)
PF B. Ht Barefoot(6’8.25”) Wt.(218) Wingspan(7’1”) Max Vert(34.5) Bench(20) 3/4 sprint (3.16)
PF C. Ht Barefoot(6’6.25”) Wt.(246) Wingspan(7’2.5”) Max Vert(33) Bench(18) 3/4 sprint (3.24)
PF D. Ht Barefoot(6’7.25”) Wt.(217) Wingspan(7’3”) Max Vert (39.5) Bench(8) 3/4 sprint (3.20)
PF E. Ht Barefoot(6’10”) Wt.(230) Wingspan(7’0.5”) Max Vert (30) Bench (9) 3/4 sprint (3.40)
PF F. Ht Barefoot(6’8.75”) Wt(241) Wingspan(6’9.75”) Max Vert(30.5) Bench(14) 3/4 sprint (3.47)
PF G. Ht Barefoot(6’8.25”) Wt(271) Wingspan(6’10.5") Max Vert(36.5) Bench(21) 3/4 sprint (3.16)
PF H. Ht Barefoot(6’7.75”) Wt(255) Wingspan(6’11.25”) Max Vert(35) Bench(18) 3/4 sprint (3.22)
PF I. Ht Barefoot(6’10.75”) Wt(233) Wingspan(6’10.75”) Max Vert (37.5) Bench(15) 3/4 sprint (3.29)
PF J. Ht Barefoot(6’8.25”) Wt(217) Wingspan(7’1.5”) Max Vert (32.5) Bench (12) 3/4 sprint (3.29)

TRC1991ParticipantPlayer I has some serious size and athleticism but his wingspan sucks (his numbers look kinda like Jan Vesely)
But I’ll take player A… 6’10” 233, above average wingspan, vert, bench and pretty fast as well

Tha King2121ParticipantB, Id take him a combo of speed and strenght. Hopefully this isnt one of the players that didn’t make the leage lol…and hopefully he has a mid-range

dede21Kevin Love is #6, unless you count KG at C but really JO is the center just hurt.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m scared of these 6-8 of 6-9 skinny and long athletic power forwards… I don’t want to get Stromile Swift, Tyrus Thomas, Anthony Randolph or Brendan Wright.
I’d take Kenneth Farried though.

doubledribblerParticipantMy guess in this order is…
1. G2. H3. C4. B5. I6. A7. D8. F9. J10. E0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 2:57pm #662742

IndianaBasketballParticipantDuncan, KG, Dirk, Aldridge and Gasol.
I’d have said Duncan and KG as of a few years or so ago, but I can’t be mad at your top five.

HaleParticipantWho is G supposed to be? He’s a tank (271 lbs, 21 reps on bench) and has a great vert with the fastest time of anyone in the 3/4 court sprint. Give me that guy if we are just using measurables.

dede21G is Kevin Love but he has dropped weight since coming out
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:03pm #662748
aamir543Participant^You stole the words out of my mouth, I was thinking the exact same thing, I would’ve said DeMarcus Cousins but then I saw the height, but he has the perfect combination of speed, quickness, and strength, but whoever he is, damn, the wieght confuses me too, I have no clue who it could be.

mosdefParticipantI want my PFs to have wingspans of 7feet or more. I is a TRex and since we all know now that Joe Wolf was a PG, we know it isnt him

TallmanNYCParticipantI’m pretty sure G is K. Love. He was carrying a little baby fat on him coming out of college. I never would have guessed that he would put up that kind of numbers on the bench though. It could also be Griffin. He and Love put up very similar combine numbers and they are almost exactly the same height. The biggest difference (and it is a huge difference) is that Griffin’s no step jump was 32" which is almost as high as max vert. No step is more useful because a player rarely gets a chance to take a running full speed jump except on a fast break.
K. Love dropped some weight once getting into the league and then dropped a ton this summer. Now I think he is playing at 240. You have to think that with dropping 30 pounds his vertical has gone up. It always frustrates me when folks say he can’t jump, since he jumps just fine for a big guy.

mosdefParticipantthough I do like long wingspans for my PFs, this will probably show like it did with the PGs that just cuz you measure out doesnt mean you can play basketball
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:28pm #662768

HaleParticipantKevin Love is H, not G.
I’ve never even heard of the guy who actually is G.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:29pm #662765
mosdefParticipantdid anyone else add the 1.5" for shoes in their head? That makes player I even worse cuz now he teller then wingspan. Im hoping it isnt Dirk
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:29pm #662773

HaleParticipantI can assure you as I just checked, that G is not Kevin Love. Love is H, and G is some guy from the 2001 draft that I’ve never heard of.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:33pm #662770
aamir543ParticipantWait, are you guys sure G is Love? I considered him for a minute, but then I looked at the weight and didn’t realize those were combine mearsurements. But I could definatly see it with the other stats, but boy has he lost weight if that is him, I knew he lost 25 this off-season, but he probably lost some prior to this off-season as well.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:35pm #662774
aamir543ParticipantWow, most people had Love in their bottom four, except one had him at second. Goes to show that combine stats don’t tell the whole story. I just depend on the eye test, which is how I got semi-sold on Paul George.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 3:41pm #662779
aamir543ParticipantAlton Ford I see, never heard of him myself, a D-League guy, drafted 50th in the draft, career averages of 2.5 and 1.7.

mosdefParticipantstop looking at the answer sheet.

J. Lee Benson
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 4:27pm #662793

JoeWolf1Also, dede21, Epke Udoh is 6’8.75” barefoot and he’s the best PF in the game according to you.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 4:35pm #662796

Wahoo757ParticipantScalabrine=workout warrior, and his numbers prove that.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 5:22pm #662814
mosdefParticipantto be fair, I ranked Bass 3rd and from where he was selected in the 2nd round, that was a good pick,
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/23/2012 - 10:08am #663030
dede21Udoh is really a 5 though, plus that is what the numbers said but Gasol is the best for now
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/23/2012 - 10:14am #663034
dede21When Udoh has started in the NBA it has always been at the 5, even though he played PF in college because they had BIG Lomers
