dwat4444ParticipantOk, so I’ve been off this site for a couple weeks and i came back 2 days ago but I have yet to get into a serious argument with someone…actually i think i had someone agree with me…odd, well anyways I was just wondering if anyone wants to post some really debateable arguments here and have this site battle it out 🙂

HaleParticipantAmare Stoudemire best pf in the game today! Just ask Shaq.

McWinningParticipantMario Chalmers will make an all defensive team.

JoeWolf1Mario Chalmers will lead the league in steals
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:28am #200376

dwat4444Participantyupyup, i would rather have Dirk right now. His skills are just at an alltime high and no one can create offense the way he does at that position. His defense is lacking and he’s not tough but I’d rather have him than Stoudemire. But either way there will never be a title won by one of those two players. And I can no longer respect any opinion from Shaq after his kobe rap.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:29am #200377

dwat4444ParticipantIf he can get on a team where there isn’t a superstar like Wade who likes to guard the teams best players than chalmers may become and all defensive player. He has the skills and size for a pg, plus he has lots of time to improve on it. So i agree with that.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:30am #200378
McWinningParticipantDwayne Wade will win mvp next year!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:34am #200379

dwat4444ParticipantHell to the no, I’ve got kobe again even though i love wade i don’t think he can put the team on his back like last year simply because he’ll be tired and unmotivated. Plus unless they don’t get any new players he’ll be planning on leaving going back to the no motivation argument. I think the lakers will be too dominate for Kobe not to win mvp.

Tha King2121ParticipantIs the best man to man defender in the NBA
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:37am #200381
McWinningParticipantthe Lakers will dominate but Kobe wont score as much. Bynom, Gasol, and Artes will all need to score which will make his numbers go down. Wade o dont will as pressured because Beasley will develop into a nice second option next year but he will still need to put up big numbers. hes my pick!

aj81Participantlebron, carmelo will never win a ring
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:43am #200383

dwat4444ParticipantIf Lebron leaves cleveland than he won’t win a ring. I just don’t think his contract size will provide enough space for a good team around him unless they just add smaller pieces like their doing in cleveland. Melo may but Kobe’s Lakers are getting really good and billups isn’t getting any younger and after the lakers there’s teams on the rise like okc, Gs, and LAC to deal with.
Artest will be asked to be a lock down defender mainly next year but i don’t think he’s the best. Players like Battier, and Raja Bell are better in man to man D.0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 7:48am #200384

aj81Participantyou comparing heart vs no heart
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:03am #200393

dwat4444ParticipantIt is kind of crazy how much we’re hating on Iverson when he was so good not to long ago. However i don’t think he could lead a team to the finals. Actually he never really could lead his team to the finals in his whole career. he’s too much of just a scorer.

0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:15am #200399

dwat4444ParticipantAI is a lot like dirk. Not in their skills but in the way they lead their team, AI to me isn’t an emotional leader and goes out on the court looking for his own, not for his teammates. As a team leader averaging 4 apg is not good enough. Lebron’s a SF and he averages near 8. Kobe and Wade spend more time a sg and averaged more. That’s what i mean by not leading.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:19am #200408

dwat4444ParticipantMutombo was more of a leader for that team than Iverson
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:19am #200406

GoodbyeChandlerParticipantwho does not fit well with the team idea. he has a reputation of putting himself first and thats not just on the court. he has been fined several times and his practice rant shows how much he cares about the team. thats why he was traded to detroit in a move that was pretty dumb on the pistons part. now AI cant find a job. why? because nobody wants a player, especially at the pg position, who is only going to shoot. in philly he was the team. now we see how his nombers go down when he actually has to play point guard.

Michael.S.ParticipantHELL NO! Come on taking away that from A.I., he was the heart and soul of not only his team that year but all of Philly. And no one should ever put Dirk and A.I. in the same breath
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:34am #200420
billykParticipantDirk and Iverson CAN be mentioned in the same breath because they are both players that cant lead their teams to championhips….
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:41am #200423

GoodbyeChandlerParticipanthe was that team. they souldve been called the philadelphia iversons. im not saying he was never good im saying he cannot do what he did that season now cause no coach would let him. and because the only team that want him are either bad or arent going to give him the money he wants and want im to come off the bench, he probably wont lead a team to the finals again. and his reputation of being a guy who does not buy into the team conception wil hurt him as well.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:43am #200426
McWinningParticipantyou cant say Iverson has had as much help as like Kobe. Iverson had to go against Shaq, and Kobe! and Mutumbo is a defensive player they didnt have anyone on their teams besides players beside him while Shaq was on the other team. of course their not gonna win a title!

McWinningParticipantid compare it to Lebron in 05 neither had any help really and they were both young.

j1232eParticipantwas so lousy their for a few years, a little above average teams in the east were making it in.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 8:59am #200437
billykParticipantIverson played on a team that was tailored to his skills.. That team had very good defenders Bell, Mckie (6th man of the year), Mutumbo (defensive player of th year)..Hill, Lynch, Ratliff… They played TEAM ball and let Iverson do his thing… Iverson wasnt going to lead a team to the finals where he had to share the ball with another leit scorer….Obviously Kobe had a better team but I think Iverson and Dirk comparison makes sense because they are both unique scorers who dont have the ability to lead their team to championships…Iverson game is GREAT for fans but he doesnt play the defense nor discplined enough to win a championship as a 1st option….Do you think if you replaced Kobe with Iverson the Lakers would have won any championships???? I dont…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:01am #200438
billykParticipantI think that year Vince Carter Raptors team would have put up a better fight….
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:07am #200440
aj81Participantdirk and iverson comparisons silly
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:12am #200443
billykParticipantI dont think so… Neither of them can lead a team to a championshp as a first option, because they are both limited in various ways… Dirk (no heart and defense is average/below average) Iverson (lack of discpline and defense is see: Dirk)
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:13am #200445
McWinningParticipantDirk has heart.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:18am #200449
billykParticipantDidnt look like he did when David West was punking him in last years playoffs… Where was his heart when he lets GS defenders handle him… How bout when he lets his team lose to MIA when they had a 2-0 lead… Isnt he suppose to be the leader of the Mavs????
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:19am #200450
McWinningParticipantthats because hes never had that good of a supporting cast.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:24am #200451
billykParticipantWhat does his supporting cast have to do with David West tapping him on his face (he just had a confused look on his face)??? I couldnt see West doing that to KG, Duncan, STAT or any of the other top PFs… When GS beat them wasnt it and 1 v 8 seed??? When MIA beat them I think he had a solid suppoting cast….
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 9:57am #200474
Michael.S.ParticipantI think Iverson and Dirk comparison makes sense because they are both unique scorers who dont have the ability to lead their team to championships
well yeah A.I.’s team was garbage and dirk and his teams were just mentally weak
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 10:33am #200485
aj81ParticipantWHAT!!!!! stackhouse, devinharris, jason terry, josh howard they jus blew that series the refs gave the heat a game tho
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 12:15pm #200529
NYK2010ParticipantArtest will be an All Star oh yeah some moron who thinks he’s a genius already bought that up.
Phil Jackson is the greatest coach in the history of sports.
Dirk didn’t lose the Miami series by himself, the team choked Wade killed them, the refs hurt them.
Main reason the Mavs will never win anything is they have no post up game, also their defense is very overrated.Kobe had no help ha he can only win with the best supporting cast, once Shaq left he was a bum couldn’t get out of the 1st round. They only got past becaz of Gasol he’ll never do anything w/out a superior supporting cast.
First 3 rings how far do they go w/out Fox defense, Shaq dominating & Horry’s huge 3 pt shots.Kobe’s an all time great player but be serious he doesn’t dominate like the other top all time guys did.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 1:14pm #200549
KevinDurantRocksParticipantAre different so i don’t know why your comparing them besides both are good at scoring
0 - Posted on: Thu, 08/13/2009 - 2:52pm #200569
billykParticipantWhen AI played for Philly they where unable to build around him because NOBODY could play with mmm… Stackhouse, Larry Hughes, Iggy… Free agents werent exactly lining up to play with Iverson… Iverson is a GREAT scorer and a warrior but I dont believe you can win a championship with a 6 foot SG thats a defensive liability and a career 42 percent shooter as your first option….. As far as Dirk in the MIA Finals I wouldnt say he STEPPED his game up like a superstar should in the last 4 games of the series I think he might of had like one good game in the last 4 games… He was as much to blame for them losing as Terry and the rest of them dudes….Im NOT comparing them, im just saying them can be mentioned in the same breath (see above) AI and Dirk are both GREAT scorers that cant win a FINALS as number 1 options…
