No this is not a NY post…Minnesota Timberwolves.

David Khan is gonna be a excellent and a top 5 GM in the NBA- He is very bold. He seems to have good ideas and wants to make a mark for this team. Taking Rubio then Flynn seemed dumb but he walked out the draft with a PG regardless and 2 Future 1st round picks. With 3 potential 1st round picks in 2010 and huge cap space, I would not be shock if Minnesota has a big improving season.

Kevin Love is the Future of this team. You Read that right. Al Jefferson is 24 and many people feel he is the best PF in the game (debateable) but he is coming off that ACL injury and may not be playing 100% by the season opener. I think if I’m Minnesota, Kevin Love and Jonny Flynn are the guys. Al Jefferson can be traded. I think Kevin Love will be the main man in Minnesota and I can see Love being a 20-10 guy with improved conditioning.

I love KLove and think he was hugely slept on last year. He is a great rebounder and he always makes the right play. It is a major luxury to have a big man who can have the ball out by the 3 point line and he is’nt playing hot potato looking to get rid of it. He can read the court and make the right pass or be a scoring threat himself.

However, his lack of athelticism is a real concern. He just has trouble finishing over taller defenders and he is’nt much of a shot blocker on defense. He has to anticipate things on defense way in advance, because if he is late in his rotations, then he has almost no chance of stopping anybody other then fouling them. I think this will keep him from being an all-star type player, but I hope you are right on him.

    Hahaha.
just kidding, I agree to an extent .Kahn, I like the way he works but you know what they say high RISK high REWARD, so he has gut’s . I like how hell draft for a perrenial superstar on potential even if they can bust.
2nd part simply put All Jefferson is their most prized possession so far

I hate Khan cause he treats his team like its las vegas casino. he gambles too much. It would have been a good trade if got a worthy pick besides rubio. Foye was their team he could play 2-Guard but why trade him now they have unproven rookies and a lack of a bench.

I also think that Khan will gamble too a point that he will get some good things for his team. I like the signing of rambis and the way he trying to get rubio back. I just think a little too wild like lidnsey lohan

yeah I loved Foye, he could play
I think he should treat them like a casino , Drafting on potential is the best way to go

This team had nothing to lose so he gambled like he should’ve….at the very least Rubio is a very attractive asset that can definitely be traded for some good pieces…love and jefferson are a perfect in-outside 4-5 combo (although al shouldnt be 5) and hopefully brewer comes into his own cuz his length and his athleticism are elite level. Foye could hoop and I like him, but he’s pretty much a poor man’s Ben Gordon which isnt that awful, but isn’t a solid building piece either. Overall, I like what’s he’s doin even though he’s letting Gathorheels boy McCants just walk..(him over Hinrich? haaaaaaa…that buster can’t even find a team, Portland will give Bayless and Outlaw for Hinrich and salary in a minute)

Q, you’ve never seen the TWolves play… that’s all I can say. Big Al Jefferson is like 1,000 times better than KLove and I mean KLove is a very good rebounder, but I don’t know if he’s even better than Big Al in that category. Al has arguably the best post moves of any big man. He’s impossible to stop 1-on-1.

KLove needs to add a 3 to his game to help spread the court for Al. Al doesn’t need athleticism to get his. Look for the Twolves to be one of the top rebounding teams if both those guys can stay healthy.

Badger relax man. I have seen the T-wolves play.

I think it’s kinda hard to do post moves with a repaired ACL. I mean, that hurts some of his atleticism. I think K-Love will be a 20-10 guy and Flynn will lead the charge.

This idea seem wild but I can see where the thought process is going on this one. Also Jefferson could be moved for two solid pieces. I would like to see him on an East team. That being said Jefferson should mesh well with Flynn. Love could possible grow to 7 feet and would be a more than serviceable center. Minnesota would be wise to get a 3 man that can block shots and if very athletic like a Josh Smith type or Gerald Wallace. That would hide some of their weakness. Also they need a long range bomber with no conscience like a Michael Redd type. They could use Rubio to get it.

I don’t hate Kevin Love… I love Kevin Love as a solid rebounder, a great passer, a player that can play hard every night… He is going to bring energy to the T’Wolves. But he is no Kevin Garnett and I don’t see him being the centerpiece of a franchise including the Timberwolves… I even don’t like the fact that he sniffed for the Rookie of the Year award, promoting a website to vote for him as an aspirant, whereas we all know that he is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy behind worthy winner Derrick Rose and the likes of Brook Lopez, Russell Westbrook and OJ Mayo… Then he felt he got “snubbed”…. I just laughed at that one… But yeah, he did produce respectable numbers including being the leader among rookies in rebounding but those are not worthy of a ROY consideration….

As for David Kahn, I am not yet impressed with his work yet… Like you guys said, too many risks… But we’ll see, maybe it’s for the good or for the downfall… The chances are still 50-50 but the team does have a great future ahead.

“badger relax man” ~ who’s not relaxed?

the only problem with what you’re saying is that Al already is a 20+/10+ guy… so why trade him? And do you have league pass? Otherwise, how have u seen the wolves play? And if you have seen them, why were you watching! They were garbage- I can’t imagine watching them if I wasn’t a fan of the squad already. lol

Jefferson is hands-down the best player on that team, and I think the Wolves would be foolish to trade their best player unless they’re getting something really special in return. Kevin Love is good, but he isn’t a guy that you can throw the ball to in the post and KNOW that you’re going to get a high % look… Feeding Big Al on the post is a guaranteed solid possession, and if he can improve a little at passing out of the double team, he could make Wayne Ellington and KLove look very good (if they hit the open jumpers)

Well, if Minnesota gets the 3 1st picks this year and they can look att Derrick Favors, i would not be shocked.

Yea, Al Jefferson is the best talent on the team. But he tore his ACL, at this point he may not be that force until Feb. He will lose some bounce in his game and depending on his mentality, he may be scared of contact. You never know, the only thing im certain of is he will lose some of his atletichism

yea, I mean, the Twolves couldn’t care less about “till feb” they care about in 3 years. And in 3 years, Big Al should be one of the dominant big men left, and it follows that the wolves probably aren’t going to trade a guy who will be one of the remaining big men left just to let KLove start at PF….. I can see them starting the duo before I see them trading either guy.

Yeah Al Jefferson is the best player on that team & it isn’t even close right now. He is still young no way I would trade him unless they get a superstar in return. Jefferson is a beast….top 5 PF IMO.

TeezyG13- I see you trying to be slick. The Kings are garbage. Part of the reason they let him go was becasue he doesn’t get along at all with Nocioni. They hate each other pretty much. McCants will be hooping this season….watch & see. How is McCants a journeyman….he has been traded once. If Portland would give up Outlaw & Bayless for Hinirch then that trade would’ve already happened I promise you. The Bulls would love to free up some more cap space.
