jjonzParticipantThis would give Rubio another scoring option and help lessen the burden of scoring. Plus DeRozan could have another breakout Season.

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantI mean that DeRozan + n°5 vs. Flynn + n°2 is not a good idea for Toronto. Even though I think Flynn had a very bad year, I think DeRozan will have a higher level. The Raptors also have solid PGs in Calderon and Bayless so they should rather get an additional wing player through draft (Leonard or Vesely) rather than losing one.

omphalosParticipantYeah this would be great for Minny, terrible for Toronto; can’t imagine why they’d give up a player showing all the signs of being an All-Star down the track.

CanArmyGoRapsParticipantFlynn + No.2 for DeRozan but not the No. 5
I’d rather give them Bargnani instead of DeRozan with the 5. They could use him as a 6th man

onemanwolfpackParticipantDeRozan > Flynn
DWill or Irving > Kanter/Knight/Leonard etc

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantI know I’m going to be provocative, but I just want you to see why your argument needs to be developed, not show you that your point is ridiculous stupid.
Let’s use your argument as it is written and take a separate example (I’m being provocative):
-Derrick Rose> Greivis Vasquez
-Sam Young>Brian Scalabrine
So its fair isn’t it?
In your case DeRozan is much better than Flynn right now and DWill or Irving>the others, yes but we don’t know how much + as I said above: "The Raptors also have solid PGs in Calderon and Bayless so they should rather get an additional wing player through draft (Leonard or Vesely) rather than losing one."

jjonzParticipantRaps get 2nd & 5th picks
Wolves get a great young SG both teams will do well

PlatypusParticipantif they do that trade then they’re going to have a hole at shooting guard, so heres another trade they should do after if they do that
Calderon and Alabai for Ben Gordon
Toronto: they get rid of Calderon and get a shooter
Flynn – BG – free agent – Barg – Kanter
Bayless – Weems – Johnson – Johnson – Davis
Or if they go Williams
Flynn – BG – Williams – Barg – Davis
Bayless – Weems – Johnson – Johnson – Ajinca
Detroit: they get a point guard and lose a year off one bad contract for another
Calderon – Hamilton – Daye – Monroe – 8th pick
Bynum – Stuckey – Jerebko – Charlie V / Maxiell – Wallace

BouncyBallParticipantWe had two of these threads yesterday. Just read this article http://www.raptorsdigest.com/toronto-raptors-front-runners-for-the-2-pick/
"First lets get one thing clear, a deal for the number two overall pick will not include DeMar DeRozan"… "Any deal would likely include the fifth overall pick, Andrea Bargnani and/or Jose Calderon and cash."

JMoney31Participantit makes no sense for the raps to trade derozan for flynn, especially when there is more talk of them getting walker or knight in the draft. why trade your best young talent for a guard whos not as good as the one you can draft with your current pick.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantthat trade just isnt good imo for the raps at all dd is looking like hes gonna b a solid 18 too 22 pt a night guy and they would be better off if they wanted too go pg and take walker at 5 whos at least as good if not better than flynn just not a good trade imo at all for the raps

mds0549ParticipantMN trades Beasley for Derozan and each team keeps their draft picks. Toronto picks up the scoring SF that they want and MN gets the SG then gets to draft D Williams. Beasley’s contract will probably have to be extended but that would be a good pick up for them.

Meditated StatesParticipantWhy would Toronto do this deal? They took Derozan high and need him to pan out. He improved alot last year even more than I expected. Don’t see why they would do this deal.

Snubs15ParticipantApparently Colangelo cleared things up through twitter saying that Derozans name has neveer been involved in any trade talks with anyone. He did say he is trying to acquire another top 10 pick but will not be trading derozan.

JMoney31Participantvery nice to see colangelo clear that up. As a raps fan, i am very sick of seeing this. one thing the raps really need is some swagger, and i dont think there is much better of a pick to bring that in then kemba. There is no clear homerun pick at the 5 spot now, but there is nothing wrong with filling an attidude issue with this draft. Keep Jose till the deadline to help bring walker along, then let him go on his own.
