How do you guys feel on the whole Ricky Rubio situation? I mean what are your predictions of him as a player, what team do you see him on when he comes over, and will KHAAAAAAAAAAAN man up and trade him away?

My prediction is : Ricky Rubio is the next Steve Nash, he may lack the killer jumpshot the Nash has but he can develop it with the right coaching.

His rookie year I can see him averaging something like 13 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals at the worst for him. He is one of the best passers I have ever seen in basketball. His pick and roll IQ is off the charts and seeing as the pick and roll is the NBA’s main offense, I really believe he would strive in a good system with solid bigs.

I believe that Khan should trade Ricky’s rights, Kahn obviously doesn’t know how to run a team. If Ricky Rubio was really in their plans for the future, they would have traded away Johnny Flynn instead of Sessions.

Just my opinion on a point guard from a point guard.

I’m a T’Wolves fan and I agree 100% that Kahn has no clue what he’s doing. The T’Wolves have 6 or 7 guards that all deserve at least some playing time in Flynn, Brewer, Johnson, Ellington, Ridnour, West (if he makes the team), and Telfair. Add in Rubio next year and that’s 7 good guards. At least Johnson and Brewer can play SF but than what do they do with Webster and Hayward. The playing time won’t be given out fairly for the guards this year. I expect a few trades next off season, but knowing how Kahn GMs I bet he keeps Rubio and tries to start Flynn and Rubio together. I like Rubio as a player, but I don’t think he can flourish in the T’Wolves system with all those guards and without a true dominant Center. I hope Kahn trades the rights of Rubio in return for a high draft pick or an expiring contract or maybe even a good center.

They should trade him for the good of the NBA. Maybe to Indiana for Hibbert? IDK but something needs to be done cuz I want rubio to play, and in a good situation with quality around him.

gotta love rubio dude, i think that he’ll do well in the NBA, but idk if he’ll average that many points his rookie year, as you said his jumpshot is pretty lacking.

I love the kid’s iq, and if you ever watch him play in euroleague, you see he’d have a ton more assists if his teammates could actually finish his passes, literally only JC Navarro and Boniface Ndong can finish what he sets up for them consistently.

I think his defense is the most underrated part of his game. Remember in the olympics, when he manned up on cp3 dwill and jkidd and even stripped them one on one a few times. The kid is tenacious with his steals in the same way rondo is, the only difference is he isnt quite the same athlete, but he is also about 3 inches taller and has a 6’9″ wingspan.

Rubio’s speed also is understated, he’s about the fastest player in euroleague whenever he steps on the floor.

the Wolves count on Rubio to be their lead player. this summer they work on getting player that fit with their style of play with Rubio game: they give up DMC to draft Wesley Johnson and bring Martell Webster two player who are great shooter, run up and down and athletic!

The kid is the real deal, he plays like a veteran, great IQ, crowd pleasing passer, more athletic then given credit for, great ballhawk. I don’t think the triangle fits Rubio the best since he’s a poor shooter but if the T’Wolves can help improve his shot to around 35% then he’ll be fine.

To flourish, Rubio will have to play PG, “hear that Kahn, Point Guard! Not SG or PG 2 with Flynn!”.

As for his rookie stats, 8ppg, 3rpg, 8apg and 2.3spg wouldn’t be that far off the mark IMO.

Us Europeans don’t hype up a kid unless he’s that good, and this kid is just that good. He’s only getting better in Spain, it’s not like he’s rotting on the bench, he’s getting good playing time. Another season in Spain will help him improve again and be more NBA ready.
