Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantwhy does nbadraft.net have lance stephenson and renardo sidney as second round picks, they are both extremely talented.

Henry25Participantagreed. Ithink both of them in terms of pure talent were top 5 in their class. I would pick lance over xavier henry every day of the week and i would pick sidney over demarcus cousins too. The only players who are as talented as them that are in their class are Wall and Favors imo

JoeWolf1Lance is going to put up big numbers in Cinci this year, They don’t have a lot of help for him and I’d say he is certainly a one and done guy. If he stays out of trouble I bet he is in the 15-25 range

Henry25Participantmost deff Lance is gonna be great at Cincy. He will have a Tyreke Evans type of season but maybe more points. I see him staying out of trouble and playing his way back into the lottery. Same goes for Sidney

JoeWolf1I hear you, I really like Sidney going to Miss St. Its another situation where he can get a chance to be more of a focal point to the team, and plus they have Jarvis V blocking every shot in the lane practically, I could see Miss St. making a bit of noise in the SEC this year, with Kentucky and Tennessee being in front, but Miss St close behind

JNixonParticipantI think Stephenson gets about 19 ppg and 6 boards this year…He’s a very gifted offensive player and I think he’ll be a good defender as well with Coach Cronin down his neck. He’ll be a 1st round pick when its said and done and a future no.1 option..
Sidney is also a 1st rounder. Too much talent on offense not to be. He will need to rebound and defend better though, but he is very similar to Zach Randolph and I see him having that kind of productivity in the L.

JoeWolf1Who would you guys compare Stephenson to? I haven’t a shooting guard be that much of a bruiser in a while. Not quick, but has a good jumper and really knows how to score.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantin my opinion i would compare stephenson to bernard king, now before i’m rebuked, think about how bernard king bullied most of the players he played against as a shooting guard and then the next play he would sky around someone, and he was known for his prolific scoring, not saying stephenson is that good but just look at bernard king tape, I think he had career averages of some where around 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, or maybe he’s a better scoring bonzi wells lol
qnd someone said sidney and zack randolph, i totally agree.

JNixonParticipantStephenson=Paul Pierce

QHaynes20Bernard King was a SG? I thought he was a PF?
My comparisons imo are
Lance Stephenson- Stronger Paul Pierce
ReNardo Sidney- Chris Webber (more pf and has similar versatility)

blackflash234ParticipantGotta go with Caron Butler because Caron’s known around a league as “tough juice” and you just don’t get a nickname like that, you earn it. Lance shows that kind of toughness.

canesboy6ParticipantBut after Henson, Wall, and Favors they are probably up there. I think Avery Bradley is a beast as well, and as much as I hate to say it because I hate duke, but Mason Plumlee looks really nasty. I think Sidney is going to run into some problems bieng a first rounder after this year. It’s a strong possibility that he doesn’t get cleared by the NCAA to play at all. Combine that with him bieng chronicly overweight and out of shape, and bieng about average height and not particularly long for an NBA power forward, I don’t see the big time potential. Zach Randolph seems to be a good comparison, but Zach Randolph is a cancerous numbers guy and from what I can tell, Sidney is similar to him in all the wrong ways. As far as Stephenson goes, I think he is a downgraded version of Tyreke Evans and will go late teens.

Henry25ParticipantI dont thin Stephenson plays like Pierce at all. Just because they are both scorers who aren’t great athletes doesn’t make them the same. I think Stephenson plays like a smaller Caron Butler, but is a much better passer. I think Lance can play the point no questions asked. He really reminds me of Tryeke Evans to be honest

joecheck88Participantlance will be like a bonzi wells type players in the nba. he will have some good years as a matchup nightmare at the 2 with his strength but eventually he will have an attitude and fizzle out.
