ProudGrandpaParticipantSo Aamir offered me the following trade in the original NBADraft.net fantasy league, the one with 10 teams, mostly people I’ve never heard of:
I get
Carl Landry
Stephen Jackson
He gets
Javale McGee
I’m already leading the league in blocks and rebounds by a ton, so I hardly even need McGee. Is it just me or is this an incredibly lopsided trade for me? Aamir, by the way, is in last.

mikeyvthedonParticipantBut, I would need to know more about your teams in general. If it is a 10 team league, than the free agent pool is probably at the very least decent, so Aamir has a chance of getting a nice replacement player. JaVale gets you nothing in a few categories, but helps out in FG and rebounds big time, not to mention possibly win you blocked shots. I mean, unless you have some other big time shot blockers on your team, you have to factor that JaVale might be the reason you are winning that category. Without him, you lose about 12-15 blocks per week on average.
You get S-Jax, who helps in scoring though has gotten off to a fairly slow start in Milwaukee. Still, I think he could possibly get his average to around 16-18 in due time. Plus, he helps you with 3 pointers and is good for a few assists. The issue, of course, is FG%, where he can destroy you at times. Landry also has gotten off to a pretty slow start, plus Monty is not playing him many minutes. He should up his FG% to around 48-50 and is a decent rebounder, though he and S-Jax will probably not make up the boards you lose with JaVale. Not to mention they do not make up 1/6 of the amount of blocked shots you were getting with McGee.
It definitely looks like you got the better of the deal, but Aamir got the best FANTASY player out of it in that he is above average or exceptional in the most categories. In 2 for 1 trades, you have to factor in whomever the other person picks up as a FA. That may not come directly from your team, but it will effect the team averages and that is how I would measure this deal. To me, it sounds like Aamir does not really know what he is doing, but if he picks up a worthwhile player off of the FA roster, he might have just really helped himself compete in a few categories. I would need to know your teams and everything to truly judge, but I am guessing that you may not have won by as much as you think you have when this is all said and done.

aamir543ParticipantDude, I just fleeced you.
In case you’re just looking at season stats, you may not know that in hte past 4 games, Landry has scored a combined 10 points in that span. In the past three games he has played just 31 minutes combined., and he’s only gotten 5 boards the past three games. Gustavo Ayon and other guys are getting more minutes than him, and tonight, he has 4 points at the half, with 11 minutes thus far, so we’ll see if he’ll crack 20 minutes today, but if this keeps up, I basically traded you Jackson and a player that won’t be getting enough minutes to even be on your roster, thus you’ll cut him soon.
Jackson is also struggling mightily, just 18 points in the past 3 games. He gets minutes, so he’ll get points, but nothing other than that. He’s shooting 36% from the field, and is getting up there in age.
McGee has been a beast on the boards this season, and although he won’t light it up scoring wise, he gets me a double-double and blocks. Plus hes more dependable than the other two.
So in the end, Landry will find himself getting garbage minutes, Jackson will be chucking up shots, but your percentage will drop, and McGee will only get a bigger role, and if Blatche gets benched for his poor play, we all saw what he did just a couple days ago when Blatche was out. I expect big things from McGee even as the season progresses.

aamir543ParticipantJust picked up Gerald Henderson from waivers, so in the end,
I got: JaVale McGee, and Gerald Henderson via waiver wireand Gramps got: Stephen Jackson and Carl Landry
Henderson is averaging 15 points a game to Jackson’s 13, Jackson has been off lately, and was suspended today, and the Bucks still won, lol. But beyond that, Jackson is shooting 36% from the field, to Henderson’s 47%,and 22 ppg on 57% in his last three games, and plus Maggete is out for a couple more weeks, and Henderson is only going to get better.
Landry isn’t getting minutes, and you’ll drop him within the next 5 days, and he has lost his confidence, and isn’t getting boards either. Monty Williams is going to Alfaroq Aminu instead, and doesn’t look like it’ll change.
And I get a double double threat, and a leading shot blocker in the process, I may be dead last, but I got you in this one.

ProudGrandpaParticipantIt’s not my fault Henderson was on waivers. What idiot dropped him?!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/20/2012 - 7:44pm #627137
aamir543Participant^Oh yeah, and did you get my latest offer, for some reason I search up guys that I want they’re all on your team, lol.

llperezin a 10 team league, trading 2 for 1 is never as good as it sounds becasue it means you gotta drop someone and and 10 teams leagues should have tons of depth on the waiver wire

Tayshaun Prince and Luke Ridnour for Nash?

aamir543Participant9 days ago, I was in dead last and 16.5 points behind the next closest guy. Now I’m in 8th and very close to moving up. Still got a long way to go, but Javale helped a lot Gramps, lol.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 01/26/2012 - 7:39am #628909

mikeyvthedonParticipantYou offering me Corey Brewer and Carl Landry for Danny Granger is worse than Holiday/Mullens. All you would have to do is pick-up Brian Scalabrine to kill that trade. I guess you must have something against me for offering a trade like that, lol.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/28/2012 - 3:49pm #629550
aamir543ParticipantI’m in 5th place now, Gramps better watch his back, I’m sneaking up on him…………..
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/28/2012 - 3:56pm #629553

ProudGrandpaParticipantI don’t even care much about the rotisserie league. It’s tough when you’re 15 points ahead. My interest is in the other league with llperez, I May Be Wrong, IndianaBasketball, TC42, MikeyV, and other guys from this site that I’ve actually heard of.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/28/2012 - 6:53pm #629608

mikeyvthedonParticipantAs I have no idea about any other league you guys are in. Still, both of you have offered me some janky trades in that league. I mean, at least when I try to rob somebody for my own good, it is a tad less obvious.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/28/2012 - 8:06pm #629640
aamir543ParticipantMy janky trade was in retaliation of your janky trade. The trade I offered you was outrageous, and I expected you to hate it, I was sort of trying to get you to offer me a better trade, lol, but at least I don’t offer a bad trade and then try to hype it up as a really good deal. It was obvious that the guys you were trying to get rid of were strugling mightily, and the guys you wanted have been flourishing of late. But you have a pretty good team MikeyV.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/06/2012 - 9:20am #632616

ProudGrandpaParticipantAre you serious? That trade is defecation. I don’t care how many points Morrow scored the other night, Aldgridge, Josh SMith, and Stuckey for Nene, Morrow, and Drew F-in Gooden?! Seriously?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/08/2012 - 7:52am #633396

ProudGrandpaParticipantI offered you a trade in the head-to-head league (llperez’s league). MO Williams for Antawn Jamison. Check it out.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/08/2012 - 12:17pm #633522
aamir543ParticipantIt’s not a bad offer, I need more time to look at it, I’ll have to weigh my options first.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/09/2012 - 5:53pm #634114
aamir543ParticipantIn case you haven’t noticed Gramps, I am now in second place in the rotisteree league, and have nearly doubled my points from a month ago. I am still a ways behind you, but I’ll catch you, and you better watch out…………………………………………..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 8:47am #634585

ProudGrandpaParticipantThe Williams-Jamison trade in the C.O.O.L. league. accept it.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/13/2012 - 6:07pm #636467
aamir543Participant^Nice try, Jamison is averaging 25 and 9 over his past 5, but one thing I will applaud you on is that you offered me before he went on the streak, did you hear that Kyrie suffered a concusion and think Jamison’s scoring would go up?
0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/13/2012 - 2:51pm #646650
aamir543ParticipantGramps, I just passed you for first place in the league. From worst to first. And you said you had it in the bag………….

oelzoosaooParticipantWe HOOPSWORLD reported last week, free agent big man Andray Blatche and the Brooklyn Nets will team up for the 2012-13 NBA season, at least on a non-guaranteed basis. After being subject to the amnesty clause, Blatche is not looking for money as much as he’s looking for an opportunity to show that he does, indeed, belong in the NBA.dsae12
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/17/2012 - 1:02pm #714866
oelzoosaooParticipantIn seven seasons with the Wizards, Blatche averaged 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He showed steady improvement over his first five years, ultimately averaging 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds in his best season, 2010-11. There were some setbacks both on the court and in the locker room last season, when Blatche managed just 8.5 points and 5.8 rebounds and started just half of his games after being a fulltime starter the year before. Blatche told HOOPSWORLD it was just time for him to leave, that the situation in Washington had become so bad that a mutual agreement to part company was the only way to go.e21212
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/17/2012 - 1:03pm #714876
oelzoosaooParticipantThe Nets would love to see Blatche come off the bench behind Brook Lopez and give them another strong presence in the paint on both ends of the floor. If he can do that, he could turn out to be one of the real steals in this summer’s free agency crop. Considering the Nets don’t have another true center under contract, this is a very real opportunity for Blatche to get his career back on track.1243212341

oelzoosaooParticipantThe Toronto Raptors are in the ending stages of a long-term rebuilding project, which just might give the franchise an opportunity to break its current four-year playoff drought during the 2012-13 campaign. Armed with an assortment of former lottery picks on its roster, the Raptors have been watching the chemistry of its young core grow and develop while also looking at ways to bolster their talent by acquiring All-Star talent via free agency and trade.r2421211
