Mr.Knick 32ParticipantDwayne Wade is seen by alot of people as a top 4 player in the NBA. I have to ask
How come teams like Toronto, Milwaukee, Chicago are better then Miami?
I’m not calling him overrated but looking at all 4 of those teams roster- I would feel Miami is the 2nd best team but they’re currently 8th. Whats up?

DanEboyParticipantMaybe it just has to do with team chemistry. Maybe the parts in Miami just don’t work together with the offense.

UKWildcat_11ParticipantToronto has a better roster, in my opinion.
I agree, it could just be a chemistry problem. I think Wade will also start playing better and harder once he gets another All-Star caliber player to compliment him, so he can at least have a glimmer of hope for the future

MagikKnickParticipantDwyane Wade is only 1 man, Milwaukee is a surprise, but Dwyane Wades supporting cast isnt up to par with Bosh and the Raps or Rose and the Bulls
All Wade has is himself & Beasley, but no one else on that roster can be considered as a good player on a playoff team

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s a good question.
As far as Toronto goes… I just think they’re the better team and has components that fit. Bosh is surrounded with good players.
I have no idea why Chicago and Milwaukee are better though. I don’t know the stats, but I feel like Chicago and Milwaukee are better defensive teams and get more from their front court.

festar35ParticipantChicago is better pure and simply because they have a guy called Derrick Rose.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/04/2010 - 1:22pm #263001

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI said 2nd best roster.
I saw it like this: When I look and breakdown the teams: Miami is wierd because they have players who can actually do something that gets no run ( Jones, Cook, Wright)
If I was Miami, I would look to have some smaller, quicker lineups. That team can also shoot as well.
I feel when you have a top 5 player in the NBA- You should at least contend for a 6th seed. Especially because Wade has not alot of trouble eating up the Weak East.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantSo Derrick Rose is better then Dwayne Wade?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/04/2010 - 1:36pm #263008

IndianaBasketballParticipantThis may sound crazy because Wade averages quite a few assists and puts up monster numbers, but I feel like he doesn’t let his teammates do as much. I believe Beasley should be a better player right now.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/04/2010 - 1:37pm #263009

MagikKnickParticipantRose isnt better than Wade, but i think he has a better supporting cast
After the deadline, things might’ve changed a bit, but Chicago had this record with Salmons & Thomas who both could be the 3-4th best player on that heat roster right now

WizardofOzParticipantDwyane Wade is a top 4 player but literally has no supporting cast. Other teams like the teams you just mentioned, have a more all-around solid roster so of course they’re gonna do better than the heat.

McWinningParticipantI agree with tezo Wade isn’t selfish and is a good passer but he lets the offense run completely through him, i think Chalmers has suffered from that too as well as Beasley. Honestly i don’t think he trusts his teammates as much as he should hes gone unless they get another big name free agent.

IndianaBasketballParticipantRose isn’t better than Wade by any means, but I feel he lets his teammates do more. Rose’s assists numbers don’t tell just how unselfish he is. Deng, Noah, Hinrich, Gibson and Miller all get their opportunities on that team. I feel like everything on the Heat revolves around Wade.

llperezmiami’s roster is not that good. Oneal is not the same any more and they have joel anthony playing back up center. Haslem is a typical work horse who does the little things, but he is not beating anybody. The pg situation with chalmers/arroyo/alston is a mess and none of those guys should be starters in my opinion. Richardson/Wright/Cook are all one dimensional shooters who can’t create offense consistently. That leaves Beasley as the second best player, and he is overrated. He doesn’t defend and he really isn’t that much of a go to type either. The other 3 rosters are all better and you can’t put that blame on wades shoulders.
People are sleeping on what guys like bogut/stackhouse/ridnour/illysova/and others are doing there in milwaukee. They play defense and have one of the best centers in the game. A number of guys that are not highly thought of are having quiet but very solid seasons there.
I would say miami has the worst roster and i honestly expect them to miss the playoffs.

Mr.Knick 32Participantllperez…
I know this might sound crazy but…let Wade be the point then.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/04/2010 - 3:03pm #263043

llperezim not sure how much it would matter. His body takes such a beating, i think having to bring it up and gaurd pg’s might only wear on him further. Off the ball, he can occasionally rest, even though he still has the ball more then anyone. I just think miami needs to do some serious work this offesason to add help. There’s not one guy outside of beasley that i think is a part of their future plans and even beasley is a third option in my book. Wade is good enough to carry them to the playoffs, but in milwaukee and chicago and Charlotte, you have more guys that can create and make plays then miami has. Playoffs or not, the heat would be out after the first round and im sure this is not the team that wade wants around him as he is in his prime.

NYK2010ParticipantThe Heat are overrated and the Bulls supporting cast is pretty good.
I can see Wade leaving Miami to head home for Chicago he gets to play with Rose, Noah, Taj Gibson.

sheltwon3ParticipantMiami is just not a good team this year and also Wade has not played inspired like the years he carried the team. I really think he is fed up with carrying a team after having a pretty decent team early on in his career. He wanted Mayo over Beasley and could be still upset that the Heat will not let him have any say in stuff and Mayo would have helped them more. Beasley forced them to have Haslem off the bench and Beasley and Wade do not fit well together.

BiggysmallsParticipantHow are the Heat overrated? I jsut scrolled down the page and it was filled with people saying their supporting cast is terrible. I would say they arent rated at all.
I also much laugh at the guy who said Wade will start trying harder when Miami gets another star player. I dont know why but that just sound funny to me. A little pathetic as well. When you get paid to play basketball, you shoudl probably try hard all the time…and on a team that needs him to try hard, he should probably try hard all the time. I dont know thats just my opinion.
I do agree that Miami doesnt have a great supportig cast, but they are in the East, where below 500 ball is good enough to make the playoffs.

Adi JosephWade has to do everything for the Heat. If he struggles, they don’t win. It’s that simple. Against any team in the league.
Against a good team, he has to have a 27-point, 13-assist game to win in overtime. At least. That’s just the reality of the situation.
Michael Beasley will be a good player, but he doesn’t show up at all about a quarter of a time and only dominates at most once every five or six games.
The rest of the team is simply not good. Jermaine O’Neal is on his last legs, if even. Mario Chalmers is a great backup point guard but hardly a starter. Carlos Arroyo has been one of the league’s most sporatic performers for the last few years.
Quentin Richardson? Are you KIDDING me?
Udonis Haslem is reliable, but a backup power forward being the only reliable member of a supporting cast just isn’t fair for a star of Wade’s quality.
It’s just not fair. The man plays his heart out and wears his body down for a team that doesn’t have the pieces to go anywhere.
Remember when Kobe didn’t make the playoffs? This team is of a similar quality to that Laker bunch. It’s not at all a reflection of Wade’s play.

quinceyhodgesMagikKnick said it best (in his first post not his second) the other teams are better teams. the bucks seem to play better defense and they have salmons and bogut and jennings who can all get 20. toranto also has a better roster. miami has wade and beasley but beasley sometimes disappears( not all his fault) cook is sometimey. if hes not hitting his shots then he is just another player. wright is a athlete that hits shots sometimes but alot of times you dont even know he’s playing. and i agree sometimes wade tries to do too much instead of helping his teammates get off. hes alot like knoe when he was younger in that reguards
