Didn’t Bosh say that he wants to be the “centerpiece,” and not the “consolation prize?”

If that’s true, then Bosh is pretty selfish. He’s been the centerpiece of Toronto for the past 5 years, and what has it gotten him besides a few All-Star appearances? Nothing.

He must only care about his stats.

Still, though, I don’t think Bosh is dumb enough to pass up the chance of playing with LeBron or Wade.

if he is smart he would join this team I mean he would never double teamed Gallo, Korver’s men wont leave them Collison is a great penetrator and LeBron commands double teams each possession so Bosh would average 26 and 12 in D’Antoni’s system. I wouldnt turn that down that team would be able to compete with the Lakers, Celtics Nuggets and all the powerhouses. He and Bron are good friends so egos wont effect this team. the other guys are role players who dont mind playing their roles and differing to the Stars they are younger than Cleveland and deeper than Toronto and Cleveland. if they get a defensive asst. coach then I see New York going to at least the ECF

    Okay guy peep this

New Orleans want to dump salaries. Okafor isnt doing them any good they have Paul so trading them for an expiring deal and a servicable wing is good for their team. that would put them in a good situation for 2011 hen Paul/West become FA’s

Toronto wouldnt mind getting a young David Lee in return for 2 players who dont wanna be there they’ll do this trade if not Bosh and Johnson will just sign straight up Toronto will then be *ssed out so you decide Lee for Bosh and Johnson or nobody for Bosh and Johnson

Thank you everybody I’m here all night

NO would probably do this because Okafor is owed 52 million the next for years and they would LOVE to get an expiring for him, plus as good and young as collison is, Chandler is also a very good young player and fits their need more. Chandler started off slow last year and struggled toward s the end due to injuries but the 23 yr old showed flashes of being a very good player. Chandler would thrive as a slashing SF alongside Paul, something the Hornets sorely lack, and Collison would never get a fair shot at NO anyways, had Paul not gotten injured he would have played a lot less. So the Chandler for Collison (even though Collison has more value right now) works for both teams because it fills a need for both of them and Hornets get the benefit of dumping Okafor who might have one of the worst contracts in the NBA and needs a change of scenery because he wore out his welcome there. Paul is very young and considering he is healthy next year Collisons value will drop drastically because of the talent Hornets have at guard (you cannot forget Thornton who showed a lot of promise needs a lot of minutes too).
Getting Collison is far from a lock since he showed so much promise but it is possible, however I feel like Okafor can be had for just about anything that saves them some money.

As for the Lee for Bosh and Johnson trade I doubt the Raptors would add Johnson, in fact Knicks might need to add some money and a 2nd round pick with Lee. However if Bosh and Lebron come, and there is a solid young core of Gallo, Collison, Walker, TD to go along with a traditional center in Okafor it should be very simple to fill out the roster with Veteran Minimums. Players like Kurt Thomas, Eddie House, Tmac, Barron, Shaq (rumored to follow Lebron, can be a big body in the playoffs( etc can help fill out the rest of the bench.

It is also rumored that the Knicks are looking to purchase a late first round pick and some decent talent might be around in the 2nd (very deep draft) so that might add a few more pieces to the depth of the bench.

This is why I never understood people saying that Lebron and Bosh would never win in NY and would only go for the money. IF the two decide to come it will be very simple to fill out the rest of the roster….

Hypothetically if Lebron and Bosh come, without any drastic and unrealistic changes the roster can look like this….

    Collison/TD/House
    Walker/Tmac/Stephenson
    Lebron/Gallo
    Bosh/Kurt Thomas/Varnado
    Okafor/Barron

That is a very deep team and is a lot more talented than anything that Cleveland has every put together I really think its not even close. This team would be ideal for Lebron…it would have everything necessary for a championship team…A defensive Center, a lot of young talent, lights out jump shooter thats 6-10 and has a handle and athleticism.

Also I know the knock on d antoni is he is not a great defensive coach, but he did a decent job last year with some of the most pathetic nba defenders ever, and the tallest man on the roster being 6-9. TD, Lebron, Okafor are all great defenders (PG and C most important on D), and players like Walker, Bosh and Gallo (clumsy on D but tries very hard and usually does well) are also no slouches on Defense.

Not saying they are coming but its as good a situation as any to win. Knicks have only 4 players under contract past 2011 for a total of 7 million against the cap (all very solid players), so it should be no problem building a great team with 2 of the top 15 players in the NBA on board.

If they want a 3 Babbit or PG will prolly be there. Also usually players with bad deals like EO dont leave there first year (example could be Maggette) although there shopped

I think there roster ends up something like this realistically

    PG- Douglas, Rookie PG
SG – Tmac (cheap), Walker, Korver
    SF – LBJ, Gallo
    PF – CB4/Stat, Haslem
C – Kurt Thomas (cheap), rookie center

I think some sort of trade will happen, there have been rumors recently that the Knicks are working on a draft day trade. It would probably involve the expiring contract of Eddy Curry alongside a cheap young player like Chandler or Walker. I have a hunch it is Chandler because the Knicks are overloaded at SF and there is no way they trade Gallo. Plus since Plan 1A is trying to get Lebron, Chandler gets buried even deeper on the bench, I personally see Chandler as a VERY VERY poor man’s Lebron James, obviously they don’t belong in the same sentence but having both of them on the court at the same time kind of seems counterproductive.
I think if the Knicks have a chance of landing both those players they will need to make some sort of splash on draft night. There are just too many questions right now and I doubt you can attract Bosh without some size on your roster. This is why Okafor makes so much sense, I think NO would so Okafor for Curry in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact they offered Okafor for Kenny Thomas last year at the start of the season, but the Kings declined. I don’t see how this year would be any different since Okafor’s production has hit an all time low this year. I also believe a trade to NY would rejuvenate Okafor’s career and he would grow on the promise he showed earlier in his career.

But you first have to factor this, why would the Raptors S&T Bosh to Knicks, who is in the same division as them, to create some super team?

Lebron and Eddy Curry are good friends aparently. Not saying Curry is going to turn into a good player because of Lebron but he could come back to the team and be a contributer off the bench. As bad as he was he always could score fairly well.
