Now that we have had a little taste of this draft class, How do you like them now?? There were mixed signals about this draft about 2 months ago. Some people thought it was very shallow with one future star and that was Griffin. However, other people thought that everyone in the top 15 or 20 were going to be great. I clearly remember some comparisons like this:

Thabett – Mutombo
Harden – Roy
Evans – Wade
Rubio – Nash/Maravich
Flynn – CP3
Curry – Nash/B. Gordon
Hill – Bosh
Derozen – VC
Jennings – Iverson
Williams – Igodala
Henderson – Cant Remember
Hansbrough – Nobody worth anything
Clark – Odom

Now that looks like a DAMN good draft. The same people that were making these comparisons are the same people that were saying that this is the weakest draft in recent memory. Does anyone see a problem here?? If the NBA got all of these players in the same draft, I think it would have been top 3 in history. Now, I think this draft is average. I think there might be a couple guys that suprise someone, but mostly a draft of role players. I do think this most of this lottery will start at some point in their career but only a few will make more than one allstar game. I’m not sayin that these guys wont turn into great players. I am only sayin that it is very unlikely. What do you think of this draft now that you have got a little taste of them?

Evans is NOT Wade, i’ve heard that comparison alot..i really dont see it..

&Curry is no Nash, doesnt have enough PG skills yet

The rest are kind of close, but most of them will turn into a “poor mans version” of who u compared them to..

Ok..these arent my comparisons. These are just what I can remember. Did yall read the post? I am saying that if these guys are going to pan out like they are pumped up to be, then how can this possibly be a weak draft. I dont think that these guys are going to pan out like this. So now that a couple of you think these are “good” comparisons (I dont), do you think this is a weak or strong Draft???

Don’t think this draft was weak. I just don’t see too much superstar potential. i agree with MagikKnick, it’s just a poor man’s comparison, which isn’t bad, but also not great.

I said in the original that it was Average. It just annoys me that everyone says it is a weak draft but then we have some some HOF players in this draft. Its just stupid. Guys need to make up thier mind on this draft. I know thats dumb but it really is pissin me off right now. LOL This was kind of a little rant.

I do believe it was stupid but I also think it was GM’s trying to get people to fall to them and if you look at there will be at least 5 really good players that were in the second round and also a few that went late lottery and late first. This draft did not have a lot of certain picks but the thing is after checking up summer league some of the players will be close to the great players the were compare too.

Thabett – Mutombo lol maybe Dalembert( he took like 4 years before he got minutes and time and still is a little raw)
Harden – Roy maybe but I see him more like Redd considering what his role will be
Evans – Wade ( I can see why they made this comparison but Evans game is not like Wades at all cept he drives and gets to the line)
Rubio – Nash/Maravich (He still has a chance to maybe get close to Nash but I dont see the Maravich quite yet)
Flynn – CP3(wow Jennings is closer to CP3 than Flynn but Flynn is talented and will be comparable to some quality point guard in the past)
Curry – Nash/B. Gordon( I never heard this comparison but I though Mike Bibby was a good comparison and if he gains some better passing maybe he can get to Nash level but they have different styles)
Hill – Bosh( I have heard those comparisons and it is too early because Bosh was solid his first year but he did not dominate until year 2)
Derozen – VC (I can see this Demar is looking good and better than people expected at this time, he is playing smarter than people envisioned and still getting decent numbers. He may not quite be Vince but despite everything Vince had what all did he do Demarr could do more with slightly less raw ability)
Jennings – Iverson(actually Jennings is more of a passer than Iverson ever was and could possibly be compared to Chris Paul. He just needs to add some IQ points because Paul is not the best shooter either)
Williams – Igodala( I don’t see that now but hey he can defend sort of like Igudala)
Henderson – Cant Remember( Henderson has not shown much)
Hansbrough – Nobody worth anything
Clark – Odom( Clark has shown that he could possibly get close to this comparions, he has all the tools)

Austin Daye is looking good and may be comparable to Tayshaun Prince even though their games seem do different.

Marcus Thorton is look good too maybe a poor man’s Ben Gordon
