Blake Griffin is not going to make that big of an impact. No way is that the best front court in the league. Did you forget about Perkins, Davis, Garnett….or Howard, Gortat, Turkelu, Lewis……or Gasol, Odom, Bynum…..or Amare Shaq Lopez ……or Smith, Speights, Brand, Dalembert, Young…..haha the list can go on and on

That is a good looking team but not quite good enough to make the playoffs in the brutal west.

Yes I have watched the Clippers enough. You don’t need 3 good players at every position cuz all of them won’t be playing. All that matters is a top notch starting lineup with maybe 3 real good role players.

For example: Amare is better than Griffin, Shaq is better than Camby, The fact that you have Powe & Jordan playing a few minutes a game won’t be a factor. Nash is better than Baron. Richardson is better than Gordon (I think Gordon will eventually be better but not right now)

I’m not a Suns fan…I’m just giving you an example of why I don’t think the Clippers would make the playoffs.

The Z Randolph trade will never happen, the bucks owner already vetoed a trade for him two years ago and hes not the type of player that milwaukee wants or any team should want for that matter hes the biggest cancer in the league

those player by player things might be right offensively but, ur not taking into account how bad those suns players r on D. defense and rebounding wins championships. baron rebounds well and defends well. gordon defends well. thornton rebounds well when he the team is in sync which i believe will be the case next season. griffin rebounds very well and will defend okay next season. camby is a top notch rebounder and shot blocker. kaman as well. powe is pretty good at both. jefferson can rebound well.

the only trade i could possibly see the clippers making to get rid of randolph is for another bad contract with less years and less talent (ben wallace).

the clippers are horrible. take in bad contracts like randolph and camby and create worse contracts like baron davis and chris caveman. all there starters are guys that like to shoot the ball, so there are not enough shots to go around. and why would powe and jack go to the clippers when they could go to good teams for the MLE? and if you think steve novak, mike taylor, alex acker, brian skinner and fred jones are any good, you should roll onto the dry side of your bed (which i’m assuming is lined with clippers sheets and blankets).

That Clips team could be a playoff team but you are assuming a lot. Davis probably won’t be as good as he was in GS, I’m betting everyone can’t stay healthy, Randolph for Jefferson straight up won’t happen, and Blake Griffin may not set the world on fire as a rookie. I think the Clips are a team on the rise but they won’t be in the upper-echelon of the west for at least 3 years if not longer.

i think that looks like a great team on paper…considering all those guys in their prime. you have to remember, there are 9 teams in the west that will have played significantly more games together as actual teams, not just fantasy made-up lineups. and actually gotten winning records…

throw in the OKC thunder who could possibly make some noise… KD could continue to grow and DOMINATE and that team would definitely have an uphill battle to get to the playoffs…

You know Clippers, I am from Toronto and like the Raptors team a lot. I am wondering what there off season plans might entail. Why not fantasize about the prospects? So……

2) sign and trade Shawn Marion for LeBron James
3) hire esteemed assistant coach Frank N. Stein to resurrect Wilt Chamberlain and Pete Maravich from the dead, manages to also get them in their prime physical and mental conditions and get them to split the MLE
4) sign LeBron and Chris Bosh to contracts that would allow the team to add in the future, since they would sacrifice the money to sign great players to play with them in need be
5) andrea bargnani and jason kapono become Larry Bird on steroids
6) the team stays healthy and play ring around the rosy to maintain chemistry on off days

Clippers, I honestly think your team would be a mid seed in the play-offs team unlike most people here, but I think your team is ridiculous. My reasoning is, the trades and signings are about as realistic as the ones I just mentioned. Zach Randolph was traded to the Knicks for a fallafel and a medium soda (which is the equivalent of what Steve Francis’ expiring contract and Channing Frye brought to their team, even though on a side note I think Channing is a rad guy and hope he goes somewhere he can play in free agency). The Knicks than traded him for Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley who promptly had to retire and the fantastically gifted Mardy Collins (note the sarcasm). What on earth makes you think they would trade him straight up for Richard Jefferson? I mean, Zach was putting up crazy numbers for the Knicks and that is what they got for him. The Bucks I think want to get better, not just throw money away to move back a step.

Zach is a gifted offensive player. Maybe one of the hardest guys to guard down low, one the best low post scorers in the league, he even has a decent mid range shot. That being said, he is maybe the worst defender in the league. He is only playing one side of the court, and on the nights where he is not putting up 40, he is giving up 25-30. It was precisely why I was not at all upset with the Blazers not getting anything in return for him close to what people thought they should be getting, because I knew there was 0 chance of the Knicks having success with a Randolph/Curry combo in the post. It is also why the Knicks took so little in return for him. The Clippers will not have better luck than those two teams, so get used to the fact that getting anything of use or immediate use for Randolph is most likely a lost cause.

The other parts are the other things mentioned, like your use of the MLE, Baron Davis and the health issues. For christs sake man, your team has Baron Davis, Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman! Those dudes all stay healthy for a season in good condition and their is peace in the middle east. Also, DeSagana Diop demanded an entire MLE to himself. Now, I know bigs get paid bucks because they are rare commodities, but dude still hasn’t cracked the 4 ppg mark and I think he has been in the league for 8 years. Leon Powe and Jarrett Jack are both guys who will be seeking mucho dinero more than what the Clippers would make them sure in their mid level, so, scratch that fantasy. As for Baron, as much as I love him and think he is fantastic when he is healthy, I am going to be giving up on him getting back to those Warrior days, but feel free to keep that dream alive.

Clippers, in conclusion, this post was a good laugh and totally ridiculous. You are a Clippers fan! Your owner is Donald Sterling! I almost think that you could be Donald Sterling in the intense dream sequence you put together to save your team as much money as possible and still make them better. Clippers, as long as Sterling is your owner, get a new team or get used to mediocrity. They will most likely end up trading Baron back for less than value and I do not see you looking forward to the situations of your young players come contract time. Also, not a fan of Mike Dunleavy, sorry to say. Well, heres to you, Billy Crystal, Frankie Muniz and the six other Clippers fans out there. Best of luck amigo!
