IndianaBasketballParticipantThis is what knee injuries, inpatience and bad advice can do to you…

UNCbasketballbumParticipantGilbert Arenas went from a 100 million dollar contract with the Wizards and all-star appearances to 10 minutes a game averaging 4 points, 1 assist and 1 rebound with the Grizzles making 260k! One of the biggest fall from graces in NBA history?

IndianaBasketballParticipantLol. Yea, it’s no joke. These knee injuries hurt you mentally too. Like it’s harder to play with that reckless abandonment you did before.0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/13/2012 - 9:17am #669604

IndianaBasketballParticipantOnce Arenas hurt his knee that second time, I had a feeling he wasn’t going to be the same.
He lost too much lower body strength and that was the best thing about his game. People forget how strong he was as a 6′ 4" 215 lb point guard… And he had enough quickness/first step to just go past you… Once he had you on his side, it was a wrap.
When he lost his strength, he lost his confidence. I miss this guy when he was at his peak though. He was a beast.

aamir543ParticipantI knew this was about Arenas, it’s sad how injuries can ruin a career, he really can’t do anything other than spot up and shoot, it’s crazy because during the first 10 or so games with Washington last year he was still a 17 ppg guy, but fell apart in Orlando, I hope we don’t see anymore guys’ careers marred by injureis, he was one of the top 5 scorers in the league for about 3 years.

A.M.G.ParticipantHow will Arenas possibly comfort himself? He’ll have to go home and sit on his giant pile of hundred dollar bills to contemplate this, maybe watch a prono on his 120 inch TV to clear his head, go out to a club and pick up six smoking chicks for his nightly seven-way. Oh woe is Gilbert Arenas

DunksNJordans23ParticipantArenas is a perfect example of why Derrick Rose needs to take as much time as he wants to recover from this ACL injury.

Memphis MadnessParticipantBased Grandpa,
In 1992 WITH HIV he won the all-star game MVP award and a gold medal with the Dream Team. How many players have won an All-Star game MVP award and a Olympic gold metal in the same year?
I then saw him play in an exhibition game later that year and was one of the best players I have ever seen. He was a 6’9 Rajon Rondo with a jumper. The 1992 Magic is what we all want 2012 LeBron to be.0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/13/2012 - 11:43am #669652
NYK2010ParticipantExcept Arenas still gets paid like 20 mill from the Magic in addition to the 260k.
Injuries and him losing it had plenty to do with the struggles.

Meditated StatesParticipantI agree Magic lived reckless and that’s the mighty falling. Kid was calling it like he see’s it. Cant always stop a knee injury at all. You can be faithful to your wife and fam though. You can where a condom. Magic can be criticized to. His jumper was suitable hot sometimes, but it was not his strong suit. One of the Greatest ever but it is what it is. He fell. Hard.

WinterSoldierParticipantI hope this doesn’t happen to Rose after the injury.

capshati23Participanti dont think hes a star anymore but he can still be a solid rotational player off the bench i feel like hes struggling because hes barely playing lionel hollins put him in the game for 3min today its hard to get into riddim when your playing so little minutes

IndianaBasketballParticipantI doubt what happened with Arenas will happen to Rose. The Bulls know what they’re doing and are being patient. I mean, he tore his ACL on April 28th and they’re just now having the surgery May 13th. They’ve been letting the swelling go down and building his range of motion/quad strength before even having the surgery. This right here tells me that his surgeons, team of doctors, etc are on top of his surgery and recovery in a major way.

WizardofOzParticipantThe Wizards medical staff and Arenas’ impatience ruined his career. The team kept on insisting rushing him back on the floor, even in meningless games. After the 1st two knee surgeries, he still looked quick and could drop 20 on any given night, but it’s after the third surgery when he started looking slow and timid. Just look at him now in Memphis. He’s slower than a slug and can’t get past anyone on the court. He even said that the Wizards rushed him back, even though he might have been too eager to get onto the court. That’s why I’m stunned the Wizards medical staff hasn’t been replaced. They also went into Javaris Crittenton’s foot the wrong way when he was injured, which made him sit out longer. And it was either Jerry Stackhouse or Rip Hamilton that was complaining about the medical staff when they left the team.
One member of the Bulls said that Rose won’t be back until Febuary or March, and that even if the Bulls are making a late playoff push, won’t rush him back. Now that’s how you treat a franchise player. If only the Wiz medical staff had that state of mind.

BasterdInABasketParticipantHe’s still making near 20 million the next two years from his Wizard contract he signed before 08-09 right? And remember he took less money than Washington originally offered him.

NYK2010ParticipantProblem with Rose is so much of his game is attacking the rim and making moving those moves. I heard doc’s say acl has nothing to do with the amt. of games its a freaking thing. He should recover, hopefully we don’t have same situation like Brandon Roy where a star player is snake bitten with nagging knee injuries.
