I know it’s crazy early, and a lot of these players in this years draft may start out medicore and end up being the best players from this draft.  But with all the hype this draft has been given, I think it’s not too crazy to ask how many all stars do you think will come out of this draft and who will be those all stars?  And BTW since the draft hasn’t happened yet, for the sake of argument we are only including the players listed in the MOCK NBA DRAFT 2014, on this site!

    Here’s my list:

    Joel Embiid

    Jabari Parker

    Andrew Wiggins

    Marcus Smart

    Dante Exum

Jerami Grant (I know a Surprise Pick here, but the guy is competitve and I beleive evenutally all his skill level will catch-up with his athleticism/talent)

Slomo Anderson (Just for fun facts, this dude’s face is like a clone of Steph Currys, but I also think this guy doesn’t get enough credit for what he’s doing at UCLA.  Close to averging a triple double.  It will be cool to see 1, what position he plays and 2, how he will adjust to the speed of the NBA.

    Tyler Ennis

Aaron Gordon (There aren’t many people on here who are a fan of this guy, but I see a hyper active competitor on a stacked team that is a tweener, but is athletic as anyone in the NBA

PJ Hairston (Not a fan of this guy and I mean he’s killing it in the D-League, but so did Morris Almond a few years ago.  I just think his shooting abillity and his shot creation has improved dramatically from when he was a freshman.  Im sure people aren’t going to agree with me on this one, but there isn’t too much depth at that 2 guard position).

I have 10 future all stars…too much or too little???

lol I definitely understand the Joe Johnson crack, but how about Jamaal Magloire back in the day! That’s why it’s not too crazy to think Ennis and others can make it bc it is really up to the coaches, injuries, and the record of the teams.

Just look at this year, so many injuries, therefore so many players who really didnt have a shot at making it this year if everybody was healthy, made it.

2008 was a stacked draft class, 6 seasons later, they only have 5 All-Stars.

2003 was the strongest class of the last 15 years, they’ve only produced 8 All-Stars.

1996, one of the strongest of all time, has a total of 10 All-Stars.

The 1985 NBA Draft, which had the most All-Stars selections of any other draft (11) also had 7 total rounds.

1984 is usually referred to as the greatest draft of all time, it had a total of 8 All-Stars drafted.

Jayson Williams, Josh Howard, Wally Szczerbiak, Jamaal Magloire, Chris Gatling, Tyrone Hill, Mehmet Okur, Mo Williams, Dana Barros, BJ Armstrong….Those guys made an all-star game. 2014 is so interesting because it has prospects with perennial all-star potential, but it also has really talented prospects who should produce in the league, and have a chance to make the all-star game in their prime.

Guys like Noah Vonleh, Zach LaVine, James Young, Gary Harris, Aaron Gordon, even Doug McDermott.

I mean if Wally World can make an all-star game, why can’t these guys?

I’m not saying it will happen, but records are made to be broken.

Of course, every draft has those high potential guys but I think, realistically, this draft is going to have 4-6 All-Stars.  I think the guys that make at least two All-Star appearances in this draft include Julius Randle, Marcus Smart, Jabari Parker, Andrew Wigins, and Joel Embiid.  Yeah, I know, I went with the easy ones!

I think Randle makes it once or twice, Smart makes it 2-3 times, Wiggins gets in 3-5, Parker makes it 4-6, and Joel Embiid makes it anywhere from 0 – 15.

Of course, Gordon, Vonleh, Young, LaVine, and even Hood are some that can make an appearance but I think there are only 4 surefire perennial All-Stars.

        That’s just me though.

I know. People talk about him like he is 6’6 and has no post game. Being a Lakers fan, I’d love to see Randle slip to 7, but I doubt he will slip out of the top 5…

My knock on Randle is his inablilty to hit a mid range jumper and his defense.  Dude gets blown by college PF’s, what does he think is gunna happen when he hits the league.  I don’t knock on his height or anything.   It’s just his inability to play defense and his attitude sometimes.

I hope he proves me wrong, but a 6’8 PF in the league who can’t really hit outside shots doesn’t impress me if I’m a GM.

He can hit outside shots… If anything, he has an above average outside shot and can even hit the 3 with decent consistency for a big guy. His defense is not great, but neither is Loves, Aldriges, or Griffins, and they are still top power forwards in the league.

man I really don’t like when people throw bad measurements just to make their point…

tell me how Julius Randle is 6’8?? show me a link? all I know is 6’9 at lebron camp in 2012, 6’10 in the same camp last year and 6’9 at nike hoop summit..

and when a freshman bigman hit a few off the dribble jumpshots and has made even a few threes that doesn’t make him a shooter but you at least you can’t say he can’t shoot

     Wiggins.

    Embiid.

    James Young.

    thats about it.

you have too much. i like Ennis but he doesnt have the tools and upside to make an all star team over the NBA elite PGs.

Gordon will not be an all start cailber player. the guy will jus be a role player at the next level.

i’be never seen Exum play so i have nothing on him.

PJ has been doing great in the d league. he has the tools to be an all star,im jus not confident enough to pick him. but i could see it.

PJ is an interesting prospect.  Saw him a bit at UNC, but watched his 4th D-league game and the guy plays the part of a potential all star in my opinion.  We won’t really know til he hits the NBA, but I could definitely see it considering the depth at the SG position of years to come

it has to do more with the position they play.

they’re more good SF’s than SGs in the NBA.

Also, i dont think Parker will be good as people think he will.

Also, i think the question should’ve been who will make multiple all star teams or be perennial all stars out of this draft class.cus anybody can have 1 good year and get in.Hell, Mo Williams made one lol.

getting in multiple times shows your consistency at playing at a high level.

Joel Embiid – I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but after watching several games of his, I can’t help but think he’ll be a regular in the game’s starting lineup.

Dante Exum – If he pans out (which I think he will), he’s a deserving superstar, if he doesn’t then he’s an unorthodox player who’ll garner interest that way.

Doug McDermott – I’m very high on this guy, so maybe I’m just being optimistic, but I think he’ll have a couple of seasons in his prime where he’ll absolutely pour in the points and the coaches will vote him even if the fans pass on him for a more exciting prospect.

Jabari Parker – It’s very unlikely he’ll not be good enough to at least land a bench spot at some point in his career.

Andrew Wiggins – Even if he only turns out to be a half decent in other aspects of the game, his athleticism may get him in on excitement factor alone.

I think the guys you mentioned are spot on the money and have all the potential to be all-stars. I think Wiggins makes a push to be a first year all-star just off the outrageous level of hype he’ll be coming in with. And if for some insane reason he ends up with the Raptors it’s a done deal he’ll be a All star

I think Parker, Wiggins, and Embiid will all make at least one all-star game.  There are others of course that have the potential to develop into all-stars.  Some others who I think have a chance are; Dante Exum, Noah Vonleh, Marcus Smart, Rodney Hood, Julius Randle, Doug McDermott, Aaron Gordon.  Maybe a few others with an outside chance.

OK Parker , Wiggins , Embiid , Randle are no brainers..

Exum has to be there too..

Embiid and Wiggins to willnever know if it’s anything at least close to Hakeem-McGrady they will get 10+ if not I still don’t see them not making at least once..

Parker, even Mr.Aran yesterday said ‘he is a lock to be top10 in NBA’ I don’t know about that but he will make a few likely..

Randle-he gets underrated in a past month but if Lee, Boozer made both a few he will get like 3 appearences for sure i think..

after those 5, firstly everyone would say it’s Smart, hate me on that I don’t think he willmake it he MAY become borderline star but there are too many sick point guards in the league..

I would add Vonleh and Young to make in once or twice and there we go 3-4 perrenial stars 7 allstars overall, I believe that is what they say will be one of the better drafts

Definites I would say Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Smart and Randle. I think James Young will make a couple because of the weakness at SG, maybe the same case with Exum too. Some guys like Vonleh and LaVine have the potential to make a lot of appearances if. I would say this draft will have 6-8 all stars.
