omphalosParticipantComing in to last season’s draft, I was really hoping Turner would be picked up by my Celtics, but we just weren’t high enough on the draft boards.
I felt like he had the shot-blocking and floor-spacing we needed from our big man and would offer the Celtics a potential star.
With the Celtics now having the 3rd pick, if Turner was in this draft class, knowing what we know now, would he be the 3rd pick? Higher?
To me he’d be the obvious 3rd pick, with a great rookie season capped off by a promising performance in the post-season for an undermanned Indiana team.
What are your thoughts?

OhCanada-ParticipantKnowing what we know I would be comfortable trading the 3rd overall pick for Turner if I were the Celtics. Same for the Suns with the 4th.

Flameres15ParticipantMyles Turner would be top 2. I personally would take Turner first, unless it is the 76ers.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantWell. The question here really is would the Celtics trade the third pick for Turner straight up? Personally, I’m not sure they would. Turner looks like he’ll be a solid pro and maybe potential all-star one day but they would be giving up the opportunity to draft someone like bender, who may have an even higher upside.

mamadouParticipantNothing have higher upside than a 2 way PF-C with 3 pts range, incredible touch.
Not even the 1st pick of that draft.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantBut doesn’t bender project to be exactly that type of player if he reaches his potential, except he is even taller, more athletic and shoots with more range than Turner.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantThe Celtics would be salivating if he was in this draft. Top 3 pick for sure, likely 2nd overall.

TheGuyParticipantvery well could go 2nd, no way he would drop past 3.

ExumInfernoParticipantLast year there were times when 4th was possible for him, this draft 3rd pick is where possible would seem to be. 3 to 8 or so.

connybucketsParticipantI remember that for a while how he was number 1 in the country and number 1 on a lot of mocks

J-rueMykelParticipantA better question might be, How high would Myles Turner go in a 2015 Re-Draft, given the information available?

festar35ParticipantThe only certainty’s I would take over Turner for 2015 is KAT and Porzingis.
I am not saying that he is the 3rd best prospect, but he is in the second group of Russell, Mudiay, Okafor and Booker. I think Turner is one of those unique big men which may get him higher than the other guys even though they are very good players. I would see the re-draft as:
#1 Wolves – KAT (Obviuos choice)
#2 Lakers – Porzingis (Nothing against Randle at 4 or Russell selection, but Porzingis looks like a franchise piece.
#3 Sixers – Russell (They need shooting and they were very effective with a PG like Ish Smith and without Okafor at times so I see him being a fantastic fit with Noel and potentially Simmons)
#4 Knicks – Turner (Not to different to Porzingis so I think he would be effective in NY as well, no doubt a smart player who could have the ability to learn the triangle)
#5 Orlando – Booker (They have Oladipo, but he is so inconsistent I think Booker would be perfect in Orlando to space the floor and score points)Oddly I have Okafor sliding because of teams needs, but if the draft went this way I honestly wouldn’t have been surprised to see Boogie on the move and Sac-Town take Okafor as a replacement.

J-rueMykelParticipantKAT isn’t slipping. Russel looked the part of a top 5 pick at times last year but he also had several moments where he looked lost, then there is the whole Swaggy P episode. Porzingis can shoot, but he’s still weak and completely clueless on defense. Turner looks like he will be a 2 way contributor with potential to be an all star. Devin Booker can shoot, but not sure what else he has done to be ranked over what might be the best back to the basket scorer in the whole league. I’d go:
1. KAT
2. JAH
3. Turner
4. Porzingis
5. Russel
