 i personally he left school way to early but found a way to sneak into the 1st round and to a great team in the Spurs. Now that George Hill is gone do the spurs get a veteran point or let Joseph learn from tp?

Cory Joseph can be a solid role player to start and develop into something more down the line. He will learn from Parker in practice and watching him from the bench, play limited minutes against the oppositions 2nd units and getting starting minutes for the Canadian national team will only help him improve. Obviously Pop saw enough potential to make him a first rounder and his track record for developing players is excellent.

The Spurs aren’t the team to let a guy just sit and learn, they have to get in game experience, much like Hill and Neal have gotten. Dawahi Leanord and Joseph are going to have to gice them a lot of energy and athletisicm that the older guys won’t be able to give them

 I think Joseph will actually be nice change of pace player, simply because his game is so different from Parkers….. Unlike Parker, he will shoot a lot of three pointers at a pretty good percentage and not really slash as much as Parker does. The one thing that I’m trying to figure out is if The Spurs see him as their PG of the future, because I’m not sure how much longer Parker will be in San Antonio. Once their window for contending is gone and Duncan retires, Parker will likely be gone as well.

i thought it was a solid pick by the Spurs at the end of the first round, Joseph has potential to be a quality backup PG and better than George Hill, i said it before he remind me a as player mirror image of Delonta West, a guy who have good size for the position, can shot very well and play both ends of the floor…

 He’s not very good at anything to me. He’s not a pure PG, he’s not very athletic or quick, and he’s not very strong. He’s a solid spot-up shooter and he at least tries to defend, but he got torched by EVERY quality PG he faced in college. I don’t think he’s anywhere near ready to play much of a role for the Spurs, and I don’t think he’ll ever be more than average in the NBA. At best

I remember during the early part of last season, some draft sites had Joseph in the top 10…

The Spurs have 1 of the best scouting teams in the league..And they’ve drafted and sign free agent players other teams overlooked…From Parker & Manu,to Blair 2 years ago to Neal last season…So i think they might be on to something by getting Joseph and adding Leonard…

 Don’t forget the Spurs have James Anderson, who is a more NBA ready player than Joseph, and although Anderson won’t be playing any point, I imagine Joseph as the type of player who gets minutes at the 1 and 2.  When Anderson was healthy, at the beginning of last season, he was getting 18 minutes per game and 7 ppg.  If he’s fresh and has made a full recovery, I’d expect him to be back at those kind of minutes leaving less minutes at the 2 for Joseph.
