The Spurs, as always, are at the top of the standings when it comes to record, but how good are they exactly?

They sport a 33-12 record, good for 3rd in the league.  How have they fared against the league’s elite thought?

    • vs OKC: 0-3
    • vs IND: 0-1
    • vs MIA: 0-1
    • vs POR: 0-2
    • vs LAC: 1-1
    • vs HOU: 0-3

*Note: their lone win against LAC was without Chris Paul*

The Spurs are a combined 1-11 against the top 6 teams in the NBA.  They are 32-1 against everyone else.

This is a pretty astonishing stat, to be honest.  I realize the Spurs don’t care about the regular season but is this a sign of things to come?

Great post but you kind of answered your own question when you said "i know they dont care about the regular season" …

Until they stop going 33-12 without caring, then they are always a contender. The only thing stopping the Spurs (besides LeBron) is injuries. Leonard has been hurt a lot of the season, which has hurt their rotation, but for the most part Pop gives everybody some spin so the "old guys" can rest up.

I think to me, Ginobili needs to play better than he did in last years playoffs. I know he had some big shots but overall him and Splitter need to show up to the playoffs 100%.

Don’t really see a problem.  It’s probably just an anomoly.  People wrote them off last year for being too old, and they were 30 seconds away from a ship.  They’ll be fine.
