How about this trade between the Lakers and Jazz?

As a Jazz fan I say no way.  We just got rid of Boozer last year and AK this year.  Why would they want to add another player who will miss 25-30 games a year becasue of injury.  Besides that Favors is going to be a beast in the league.

This doesn’t solve the Lakers primary problem of finding a better PG.  Favors and Hayward would make them younger and be better depth but this move doesn’t put the Lakers in the Finals.   

 

As for Utah I wouldn’t want to take Blake back and this depletes what little they have of wing talent.

Yea I’m sure the jazz want to trade away their 3 building blocks for the future, for an inconsistent big with health problems. Trade is just turrible.

Boy, if you thought the Lakers robbed the Grizzlies on a misdemeanor, then this one is a felony. When backtracking the Jazz’s activities, this trade looks increasingly like a Deron Williams for Andrew Bynum swap, and that isn’t favorable for the Jazz. Also, the one piece likely to interest the Lakers at least a little is Devin Harris, whose name is nowhere near this trade. I do think that the Jazz and Lakers could hook up on trade. Also, the Lakers throw in Shannon Brown and/or a draft pick, and either team could move some small pieces to round out the deal.

Millsap is the kind of hustle, head down type of player that would go well next to Bynum. He may be a little shorter, but makes the Lakers younger at the position. Also, the Lakers get a starting point guard in Harris. Utah gets a stud in Gasol, that paired with Jefferson keeps them competitive, and upon Favors’ readiness, either could be peddled for athletic, young perimeter players, or whatever the team need at the time. I understand the possible deficiencies of the trade, and I could definetely see expansion to include Steve Blake a nd another Jazz piece. Let me know what you think.

The first trade is horrible. No way the Jazz do it. Now JMPedro is alot better. Throw in Shannon Brown in stead of E Banks and u got a deal.

If the Jazz could get the point guard they want in the draft, they may make that trade, the Lakers would get two pretty good players and the Jazz one but Gasol is the kind of player they need, tall, long, good defender/scorer.

 I think that a Bynum and Milsap frontline would be a pretty good one, but giving up favors would be something the Jazz would not probably be willing to do unless they get another soolid player in adittion.

The Jazz need a long, athletic 3 that can shoot, Milsap for Granger would give the Jazz the type of 3 they need. What’s everyone think?

Hayward is big enough to play the 3 and versatile and quick enough to play the 2. So if the Jazz can fill either of those positions, hayward can fill the void at the other. I personally think the best thing the Jazz can pull off would be to draft Alec Burks, the kid is a big time scorer, and extremely versatile going to his left or right, his shooting issues don’t concearn me at all, considering what hornacek has been able to do with Millsap and Kirilenko’s jump shot in 2 years time is outstanding. Plus burks has tremendous form, just a tendacy to not square his body with the basket when taking jumpers. I don’t think the jazz need to make any huge trades this offseason, unless millsap is unwilling to be a 6th man, then you may have to consider moving him.

The Granger for Millsap would be great for the Jazz, but I don’t see the Pacers making that deal.

I think most GM’s probably think about the same in that they want to improve their team by getting players that are taller, longer and more athletic at each position, both Hayward and CJ Miles can play the 3 but both are undersized and at a disavantage when they play the 3, on the other hand both have the skills, athletic ability etc  to play the 2 and they give the Jazz that advantage GM’s are looking for when they play the 2.  The 2 is Hayward & CJ’s best position.  That being the case, I don’t see the need to draft a 2.

I’m hoping the Jazz will draft a 3, if Vesely can play the 3 he would be a great pick, he has great length and athleticism & a good motor ,  Ford has Leonard moving up the board and Tobias Harris may be moving up the board too, all three of these players would give the Jazz a good young player to develop at the 3 spot.

If the Jazz can’t get Vesely at the 6 spot, then I would hope they could get Knight, Knight would be a good young point guard for the future.  If neither Vesely or Knight are available then Leonard or Bismark Biyombo would be my choice.  BB would give the Jazz a player that has a great motor, plays hard, and his strength is defense and rebounding, a weakness last year for the Jazz.  With the 12 th (or second pick) I would hope the Jazz pick (depending on who they got a 6) Jimmer, Leonard (if he’s there) or Tobias Harris.    If Knight was the pick at 6, no need for Jimmer at the 12 spot, if Vesely was the pick at 6, no need for Leonard or Harris at the 12 spot. Even though this draft isn’t the strongest, there are some players that I think can help the Jazz.
