Houston is in talks with Toronto to tade Lowry, #16 and #18 for #8 and Ed Davis.

Davis and #12 would then be sent to Detroit for #9. Detroit would thus get there big and only move down 3 spots and take a wing who can play with Knight and Stucky.

Houston then offcourse will try to swing 8 and 9 plus young players for Howard and Turkeglu.

If this is true Detroit must be loving life. A young, long, athletic big to pair up with Monroe and they still get a lottery selection to use on a swingman. Not to mention they just got rid of Ben Gordon’s contract. This is a young team with some promise, led by arguably the best young center in the game.

Would work for Toronto! It doesn’t even look like 8 is going to give them Waiters now. Might as well step back for a good payoff. Would be sorry to see Davis go, but he is replaceable.

Does anyone else notice they have a team full of PF’s now?

    Jon Brockman

    Jon Leuer

    Marcus Morris

    Patrick Patterson

    Luis Scola

    Kevin McHale…

And now Ed Davis? (Oops..didn’t notice the 2nd portion..but still, they could have a starting line up of Power Forwards…)

Don’t forget Motiejunas who’s coming over this year.

I agree though, I had no idea why they drafted 2 of them last year…then they go and trade for 2 more yesterday, who probably won’t see the court in Houston. & they’re said to be interested in Henson, PJ3, & Moultrie if they stay in their current position. I just don’t get it.

So let me get this straight. Houston would be giving up Kyle Lowry, and picks #12, #16, and #18, and in return would be getting………….picks #8 and #9?? Houston brass got their head up their a$$

I want to see the source. Rockets would be losing this trade, whether the picks went to ORL or not. The teens have more value than in most drafts this year.

‘Tis the season for making up your own trades that you think would be cool for your favorite team, posting them, and prefacing them with, "I heard," or "Word is." Anything goes. Make up some news! Any and all journalistic integrity is temporarily gathered up, carried to the stall in the men’s room, and disposed of in one deposit. Can you hear the flush from down the hallway?

If this is true then idk wtf Houston is thinking. They are trying so hard to climb up the lottery and gain some trade assests and i just read a report that said the Magic are not impressed the the Rockets aggressiveness. On top of that it would be a one year rental if they did make a trade.

NO! Houston was doing just fine until now, but you can’t give up Lowry and a pick for the 8th, although it’s probably because they need Ed Davis for the Detroit deal, and Tronto needs a pick for Davis, but I would see if Lowry for the 8th straight up would work, then try the 12th and the 18th for the 9th, that leaves you with the 8th, 9th, and the 16th, but remember, Houston could also be trying to trade up to number 2 where Charlotte is right now.

But I like the idea of what they’re doing, Daryle Morey is one of the best execs in the league, and whatever he’s doing he’s gonna go out swinging, but at least they’re trying to assemble the smblennce of a contender, and trading away Dalembert earlier today was another sign that they’re going all in on Dwight.

Question: Is a team with Dwight, Scola, Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee, Dragic, Chandler Parsons, and Patrick Paterson a contender assuming Dragic keeps up a 16 and 7 pace, K-Mart gives them 18 a game, Lee gives them 10 a game and defense, and Scola gives them 15 and 6 and Dwight does his 20 and 15?

If Houston is trying to load up on picks in this draft, good for them. If they’re trying to load up on picks to trade for Dwight Howard they’re foolish. Do they honestly think Dwight is going to even consider signing a contract in Houston? They must be crazy.

Brockman will probably be waived, and Leuer is a candidate as well, to open up cap room. Morris can play the 3, and probably will since Budinger is gone. And any of those guys (including Motiejunas) could be part of a the Dwight deal or for someone else. Perphaps going after Josh Smith to intice Dwight to want to play there. Houston wants a brand new team, I think their roster is going to be very different come training camp. I wish every GM was as ballsy as Morey. This league would be much more exciting.

I don’t see how we’re wrong for trading for the 8th and 9th picks.

We started with the 14th, 16th, Kyle Lowry (Who wanted out anyway) and Chase Budinger and we end up with the 8th and 9th?  How is that a bad move for us at all?  It’s a loaded draft, the higher the picks the more talent we’ll get.  Not to mention, we can unload tons of cap room to make a run at Josh Smith and Deron Williams next offseason if we decide to trade for Dwight.

I don’t think they’ll get Dwight, but I’m with you. With the 8th and 9th picks you can get two really solid/good players who can contribute right away and save a lot of cap.

Yeah, even if we don’t get Dwight, the 8th and 9th picks are a terrific consolation prize.

Where is the link to this? Did you get this from Bleacher Report lol? If so don’t believe it. Those guys have no bball knowledge whatsoever. I think you were looking at this article. This article said that the Rockets were also trying to trade Lowry and the 12th pick to the kings for the 5th pick and Chuck Hayes but they turned it down.
