Reports are that the Hornets, who have a longstanding interest in Arron Afflalo, are on board with surrendering the No. 9 pick and a player for the Magic shooting guard. If true, Orlando can set themselves up pretty good with a couple options. #1 draft Exum or Smart at 4, and package 9 &12 to move up for Randle or Vonleh. This scenario they add possibly the best pg and pf in the draft to fill their two needs. #2 draft a combo of either pg and pf with the first two picks, hoping Randle or Gordon falls to 9, while keeping your 12th pick to add a shooter on the wing a la McBuckets, Young, Stauskas. I will also ask for Biyombo in this deal. Athletic, defensive pf who fits well next to Vuvecic. If this rumor comes to fruition, what do you do if you’re Orlando? What player in addition to #9 do you think you can get from Charlotte?

 Affalo is prob a top 10 SG in the league.. But the #9 + a good bench player is probably a little too much to ask for. If im Charlotte i keep the pick and take the best player available. They have needs at the 2 and 4 and need depth and scoring. This short term thinking is not the way to go if your Charlotte. So what you made the playoffs last year, you got SWEPT. Does making the playoffs again next year (you probably will anyway) make or break your franachise? Take the best player available at #9. You lucked into this pick for a reason and the depth of talent is good enough that even MJ couldn’t screw it up.

If Im Orlando i do it. I dont need or want Affalo. I have Oladipo who needs all the reps he can get. Affalo deserves better. Orlando is probably hoping to suck at least another year and having Affalo on your team doesnt help with that unless your blatantly tanking again like last year. Try and win some next season, keep building and trying.

alot of people thought jordan was playing when he said he was in a win now mode..the signing of jefferson and maybe adding affalo is a sure sign of that..

but i think it would be better for their marketing and have more fans in charlotte excited by having a young prospect..and who knows maybe someone like randle,noah or gordon falls to them…
