Roxwell HoopParticipantKnowing what we know now, as the Sixers, would you still draft Oakford or take Porzingis? Curious to know….

Arc12345ParticipantI definitely would. Porzingis should’ve been the second pick if we know what we know now. That’s taking nothing away from Okafor who has been fantastic, but he’s 3rd behind Towns and Porzingis.
If I could redo the lottery (based on talent alone, which is how you should draft 99% of the time) IN MY OPINION based on what I’ve seen so far:
1. Towns
2. Porzingis
3. Okafor
4. Turner
5. Booker
6. Johnson
7. Winslow
8. Portis
9. Mudiay
10. Hezonja
11. Nance
12. Payne
13. Russell
14. Stein

NBAjunkie81Participantbut I think Porzingus would have been a better fit for Phila…… Porzingus & Noel are a natural fit at the 4 & the 5….. & if Embiid is healthy, the idea of Embiid at 7’2” & Porzingus at 7’3” w/ 6′ 11” jumping jack Noel backing them both up would be downright terrifying……
But I would not give up on Okafor if I was a Phila fan…… you guys are going to Luv Dario Saric….. who is a natural Point PF……. I’m hearing that Embiid looks great….. w/ that kind of size & ability across the board in your front court you can do a lot of good things……
even if you don’t get that Lakers pick this year…. you guys still have 3 First round picks…… & I realize Everyone wants Simmons & for good reason….. but if Philly gets Brandon Ingram, suddenly you guys are loaded w/ talented prospects that you can either let gel or move…….
But the main thing for Phila is to just be patient……. you guys have 8 first round picks over the next 3 Drafts (2016 – 2018)….. just be patient, accumulate prospects & let them figure it out on the court for a couple years…… the worst thing you can do is just start giving away 6′ 11” polished post prospects b/c they don’t defend the pick & roll…. That’s what coaches are supposed to be for….. One thing coaches will Never do is teach someone to be almost 7 feet w/ the post moves & touch of Tim Duncan…..
Phila has a track record of being a bit impatient w/ talent….

The GoatParticipantI would have Hezonja 3rd after KAT and Porzingis in a redraft, then (in no particular order) Okafor, Turner, Booker, Lyles, Johnson, Winslow and Russell.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantWhat has Hezonja done to make him 3rd in a redraft? I think he’s in the same group as the other guys you listed after him.

TheGuyParticipantIt’s way too early to do a re-draft. Back in the 2009 draft, Tyreke Evans might have been the top guy after winning rookie of the year (yes I know Blake was hurt, Steph couldve won ROY and Harden was on the bench) but look where he is today: a medicore player. So year one doesn’t clinch anything for the rookies. It will be interesting to see how they develop over their careers, I think this is one of the deepest and best classes and will prove to be so over time.
