festar35ParticipantHeard this rumor in a couple of locations, I don’t love it or hate it. My big concern is that right now Hill seems to guard the better guard on the opposing team and Indiana would lose a really good defender, I would want a bigger 2-guard even if it meant Ellis on the bench.
In saying that I think that Teague is a pure PG and the pick n roll/pop game he could have with Turner could be fantastic. I’m sure he could create room for PG to get open shots as well.Atlanta would get a solid/consitent bench scorer as I assume Schroeder starts with Korver. I still belief 6th man is the best spot for Hill and he can be a perennial contender for 6th man.
What do you guys think?

BennyLogParticipantDont really see why Atlanta makes this trade? I know hill is a very good defender so i guess it would be to make room for Schroeder? I like it for Indiana gives george a little more help on offense

Chilbert arenasParticipantThrow in Indy first round pick with George Hill and maybe Soloman Hill, add Jordan Hill while we’re at it.
Would Magic be starting Payton and Teague next to eachother if they pulled the Oladipo for Teague deal?

chrsw003ParticipantDont like the Teague for Hill, but I wouldnt mind Teague for Oladipo. Also Teague is from Indiana and I feel like he always plays well when he goes back home.

IndianaBasketballParticipantGeorge Hill is a leader on and off of the court for the Pacers. He’s great in the community as well… Both Hill and Jeff Teague are from Indianapolis, but Hill just has a different personality and humbleness. Not saying Teague is a bad person, but he’s just more arrogant/smug like. While Teague is a more aggressive scorer/penetrator and more dynamic in P&R/P&P, it’s a move that could hurt the team chemistry wise.
And while Teague has shot it better this season, he’s not the off of the ball player or floor spacer Hill is. You have to wonder how he and Monta Ellis would fit together offensively. Even defensively, like the OP pointed out, they’d be suspect.
The only way I think trading Hill for Teague would work is if Ellis is going to the bench and the Pacers are acquiring a bigger two who can shoot/defend. I think Glenn Robinson III can eventually be that guy, but he’s not there yet.

MatosParticipantHawks wouldn’t give up Teague for Hill unless Indiana is adding more pieces to the trade (draft picks).
