SpartanGloryParticipantI think its time we all give Adreian Payne some credit. At this point he has played himself into a lottery pick. I’d take him over McDermott, Early, or Warren. He’s got NBA size, elite jump shooting from both mid range and from 3, and he has a post up game that had the best defense in the country (Virginia) doubling him on every single posession. There’s no questions about his character, work ethic, IQ, or athletisizm. Not only is he a safe pick because he’s going to contribute immediately, but he’s going to get better. He’s improved by leaps and bounds since his freshmen year, and he deserves a little more love.
Oh, and Branden Dawson is playing himself into a first round pick! Look out UCONN…

TRC1991ParticipantAdreian Payne is a monster. He seems like he can contribute instantly at the next level based on his maturity and strong repertoire of moves

Malik-UniversalParticipantidk if Dawson is a first round pick… second round sure… hes basically a 6’6" PF.. tht won’t fly in the nba.. limited shooter from the outside and not much if any perimeter skills

OhCanada-ParticipantIts been great to see Payne develop. I remember around the time when Dwayne Wade won his first Championship with Shaq Wade was on the cover of a Slam Magazine issue. Adriean Payne had a page or two in that issue stating he was an up and coming talent on the rise. That article really intrigued me and opened me up my mind to be interested in all levels of competitive basketball not just Division 1 and NBA. He has definitely come a long way and is one of my favourite players.
