This guy is pretty good. hes a redshirt sophomore who is is a beast on the boards, another undersized power forward he averages a double, double in the big east and is a decent defender, hes not all that polished offensively but do you think he has a chance of being a second rounder?

It’s far off, guy is a beast and plays in the Big East, I think if he should stay until he exhausts out his eligibility and be a similar player to DeJuan Blair coming out of college. Great rebounder, but undersized, don’t think he’ll ever be the offensive player Blair is though, nor have the fire Blair has, not knocking Pope. Rather I am saying that Blair has a lot of fire that he plays with.

Nice to see nbadraft.net giving him some love. I dont think hes as good as Blair but he can be a decent player in the nba.

I think he is more a role player who just gets the boards for his team. Giving his team more opportunities and getting his points on put backs. I could see him in 25 minutes of play as 4 points a game 8 rebounds type of guy off the bench.

Herb Pope has always intrigued me. He hasn’t shown the same ability to put the ball on the floor and hit the mid-range jumper that he showed at New Mexico State, but I doubt that they completely disappeared. The biggest problem that I’ve seen with him is his atrocious free-throw shooting, which has cost Seton Hall numerous upset victories.

He’s a pretty good prospect, but I think he’s more of a JJ Hickson type prospect than DeJuan Blair. He’s not very talented offensively for NBA standards and he’s a poor defender (as is everyone that plays for Seton Hall), but he can do basic things like hit 15 foot shots, rebound well on both ends, and finish around the rim with jump hooks and turnaround shots after turning his left shoulder. I’d take him in the late 1st or early 2nd round (more likely).
