Please compare the following players from the most recent mock of the 2010 draft to NBA players today.
1.Wes Johnson Syracuse (Don’t say Demarr Johnson pre-accident, who the heck is Demarr Johnson anyways?)
    2.Derrik Favors Georgia Tech
3.Patrick Patterson Kentucky (NBA draft.net is Buck Williams, but once again I have no idea who that is)
4.Gani Lawal Geogia Tech (why is ranked 15 in the most recent mock draft. A little high I think)
    5.Stanley Robinson Uconn
6.Luke Babbit Nevada (again this guy also seems to be ranked way to high recently, 19?)
    7.Ekpe Udoh Baylor
    8.Dwayne Collins Miami
    9.Art Parakhouski Radford
thats about all I can think of for now, I might have more later on.

19 may be a tad bit high for babbit, but he is going to be a solid nba player….6-9 with good handles and a great 3pt shot + the ability to bang down low..I see him as a Mike Dunleavy type player in the NBA 14ppg 5rpg type dude…

Patterson has always reminded me of David West, a tough, rugged, hard-nosed power forward who may be slightly undersized but makes up for it in hustle and effort on the boards.

Not too bad. thanks for the help. Although I remember reading the link that this site provides on Derrick Favors, that he can play both forward positions. The comparisons you guys have mentioned for him can play both PF and or Center. Not one can play both forward positions. Maybe Josh Smith is a more accurate comparison. What do you guys think?

Even watching him in highschool, I knew he was a PF/C type. He cannot play SF right now and his game is better suited to play in the post anyway.

Let’s get Quincey in here to respond to the Josh Smith comparison.

David West was one of the best defenders in college at Xavier. I dont like the West/Patterson comparison. I compare patterson more to Speights.

I really like rhofern’s comparison of Wes Johnson to Trevor Ariza. They have very similar games as strong defenders and athletes and the lack of scoring off the dribble. Johnson has a better 3 than Ariza though.

Derrick Favors is a poor man’s Amare. Their games are similar since Favors will be most effective as a slasher and neither is as good a rebounder as they should be. Neither is a spectacular defender either. Favors is a smaller poorer Amare.
