have an early termination option next offseason? Any team the Heat would theoretically trade to probably would want assurances that he wasn’t going to bounce after one season. Wouldn’t see him sticking around Phoenix.

I don’t understand what people don’t understand about Chris Bosh.

1.)The guy avg 18 and 8 the first two years with Lebron and Wade on his team

2.) this year if he had played 36 min a game he would have avg the same thing..He avg 16.6 and 7 reb and a career high in Fg% at 53% in the lowest min he’s seen since his rookie year because of Ray allen taking up shots and later Birdman taking minutes..There is literally not a better 3rd option in the league all while playing out of position.

These people who know nothing about basketball who want Al Jefferson or Josh Smith or whoever these people average these numbers as the FIRST option on bad teams..If you think Bosh’s production is bad wait til you see how bad these players averages dip when they get NO touches and are third options..David West avg the exact same reb per 36 min as Bosh..When Danny Granger was on the team he avg 12 and 6..You think he’s gonna be good when he plays with Lebron and Wade?? Zach Randolph avg 15 ppg as the first freaking option!!

Most importantly other than the fact that he spaces for Lebron and Wade shooting wise..He is far superior to any other big man in the NBA in Pick and Roll Defense..By far.

He makes the money he makes because in the summer of 2010 you’re options were Amare Stoudamire who can’t even stay on the court anymore and plays terrible defense and has lower career rebounds than Bosh or Mr.”Gimme that Sh@t” Carlos Boozer who can’t even get on the court in the 4th qtr cause his Defense is so bad.

I like Bosh. A couple of years ago someone on here called Bosh a Stretch Five. That’s true. That’s basically what he is.
He can guard the 4 and 5 and also contain the pick and roll and close out on shooters. Solid shot blocker and a decent rebounder.
On offense he is ok inside and had a mid range jumper. He’s very versatile and an ideal big man for this new era in basketball especially
If he can master the corner 3 (Wade needs to master the corner 3 too).

I think he is the perfect third guy and I think he can be the second guy in a few years.

The Heat could use help inside but LeBron and Bosh are a great small ball combo. Birdman is an IDEAL big man
for Miami. He can either come off the bench for energy or start in bigger lineups with a Birdman, Bosh, and LeBron front line.
Their problem is after that. Battier is a good fourth big but he might retire. Solid stretch four if he stays but they need to limit his minutes even more. He gets tired after banging with big men and it affects his shot. But, Battier has added value since he can play some small forward and then
he can also get hot from 3.

Their weakness is depth behind those guys. Haslem struggled (bad matchup?) and he is too undersized to play the 5. He also lacks three point range. So I think the Heat need another big man off the bench to take most of Haslem’s (and even Battier’s minutes). A legit 7 footer would be nice. The Heat need a 3rd guy to play center as well as a bigger guy with a post game. Basically a 10th man who can fill in at center, hit a jump hook, rebound, bang, defend, and protect the rim.

Your top guys is what counts in the NBA. The Heat have James, Wade, Bosh, Chalmers, and Birdman if be resigns. Then Ray Allen and Shane Battier if they don’t retire. That’s 7 guys right there. They don’t really need much. Just go bargain hunting in the offseason. Get an 8th guy or a 9th guy. Then put Haslem and Mike Miller (if he stays) closer to the end of the bench.

Memo to Heat fans: When trades go down in the NBA today, their supposed to try to benefit BOTH teams just as much. I cant even tell you how many lopsided trade ideas Ive seen here where it seems like the Heat/Lakers/Knicks/Celtics get away with highway robbery.

I think it’s fair for the Heat to look at their options but I also think Bosh is being severely underrated.

Breese227 said it best, he nearly averaged 17-7 as the third option. I mean, that’s as good as it gets as a 3rd option on a championship team.

Chris Bosh may not have scored in game 7 but he was +1 in the minutes he played whilst D-Wade who scored 23 points was -2. The +/- stats aren’t always accurate but Bosh certainly contributed in game 7.

D-Wade and LeBron both wanted Bosh on the roster so I don’t see him going anywhere soon, he is still only 29 so for a big man he has several more peak big years.

As regards Miami’s big 3, if they do all want to stay together, I could actually see Bosh and certainly D-Wade opting in for 2014-15 and 2015-16 as they are both due $41.5 to $42.5 million combined for those two seasons and it could be a lot of money to turn down.
