Drops 3rd straight at Washington.  Was down by as many 34 before cutting it to single digits.  Wiz pull away at the end for the easy 114-97 victory.  We all know the NBA season is a grind.  The regular season doesn’t mean as much to the heat as it does to the Wizards, Pistons or Brooklyn who will be fighting all season for a playoff spot.  The Heat are battle-tested, champions and are going to be judged what they do in the post-season, not a mid-January road game as they go for the first 3-peat since the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq.  It has to be tough to motivate yourself night in and night out when you know you are a playoff team and are playing for a third straight NBA championship.  I wouldn’t read anything into the Heat’s losing streak, I think the Heat might just be getting a little bored.

I think they are bored.  Teams like the Heat, Spurs, and even the Thunder (when healthy) get bored because they’ve proven themselves and have been title contenders for about 4 years now.

The Pacers and Clippers might be teams that end up coasting next season as well.
